Things are all messed up here. I can't even write a private e mail to you. But - There's bad news here. Where I live, one of the residents has been struck down by the plague. So we are all now confined to our rooms. as many as 6 more residents are under observation. So I'm very happy to stay in my room. Anyway, almost nothing in my computer is working. So I'm thinking of sending it out to a first rate repairman. I'm not even sure this will get seen by Christina.

The Secret U.S. War on innocent People.

The scene is common in the middle east. Families, adults and children, are leaving their places of worship. These are quite innocent people, not at war with anybody, not a threat to anybody. Suddenly, bombs explode on them, killing or wounding. The plane that dropped the bombs flies off. It is an American plane of a type called a 'drone". And it has no pilot, no crew. Well, it has a pilot, sort of. The pilot is sitting comfortably in a hangar in the U.S. But it has no wings. The pilot is sitting in the the seat and directing the flights of it's drones and bombing and killing people who are in no way threats to the U.S. and in no way at war with the U.S. But you won't be learning this from any of our news media as large numbers of these drones murder thousands of quite innocent people, especially in the middle east. This is the new way of U.S. mass murder of innocent people. One could correctly call it mass murder for the fun of it. We have to learn that the U.S. is the world's most vicious killer. It has been a killer from it's start hundred when the pilgrim fathers landed from Britain. And I guess that obsession with murder came with their British origins back in the days when the British Empire was the model of evil and and mass murder, a situation that lasted until 1945 or so. For those who still haven't figured it out, Canada is now the servant of U.S. evil. (Too bad the Canadian Legion has never had the brains to figure that out.) Would the U.S. ever attack Canada in this way? Of course. In fact, as the U.S. begins to crumble, it is very likely to take over Canada. The British Empire and the American empire have been the two greatest evils this world has seen for many hundreds of years. And Canada will quite possibly be the third as we now kiss American asses. In today's news, the world's top 21 climate disasters cost us some 200 billion dollars. The reality is that climate change will kill all of us soon. And the super rich don't give a damn. The money that should be going into climate change is simply going into the pockets of the super rich. Nothing is being done to the carbon dioxide that oil companies are pouring down on us. The super rich are not capable of giving a damn about others. And the climate change that is killing us is worse, far worse, for Africa where our super rich make sure we are sending very little help to the Africans. All that matters to the super rich is the profits for themselves. And there's no profit in helping the millions in Africa who are dying as I right this. The obsession with profit for the super rich has made them the richest in history. It seems not to have occured to them that climate change is killing millions of Americans. It's already killing over 20 milliion Americans who are dying of hunger. It's killing people in British Columbia even as it digs for more poisonous oil to kill our skies even more. The Liberals and Conservatives, as always, serve only the rich. Democracy? Get real. Canada and the U.S. (and most other countries) have NEVER been democracies. Most Canadians have no idea what a democracy is. Nor do their agencies help.Our news media are liars. They always have been the agents of the super rich. And reporters who tell the truth get fired. The reporters who are left are, frankly,less than honest and less than intelligent. I wonder, by the way, about Canadian troops who served for 12 years in Afghanistan. They served with American troops who raped and murdered civilians including children and babies. Did the Canadians copy the Americans? Of course they did. So stuff you Canadian Legion. Forget the crap that the Canadians were "fighting for their country". They had nothing to do with Canada. They were fighting to kiss American asses.

Our friends, our enemies

Think hard. Europe went to war in 1939. The U.S. did not. Wasn't that strange? In fact, the U.S. capitalists didn't give a damn about Europe. Thepr interest was in China, a country the U.S. capitalists had wanted to steal since they saw how the British had plundered China. Indeed, since 1918 the U.S. capitalists had been building their massive fleet to serve in the Pacific, with rather less in the Atlantic. And in 1939, the British, who had plundered China for centuries, needed all their troops in Europe. U.S.capitalists then put all their interest in getting control of the ruler of China. That ruler was the unspeakably corrupt Chiang Kai-Shec. Chiang used China as the centre for the massively profitable drug trade throughout the Far East. And he kept uncounted millions of dollars which Chiang happily shared with the U.S. since he needed an ally. (The Chinese communists were crashing in on him.) Chiang had to flee to Taiwan and, eventually, to the U.S. But meanwhile, a newer force had swept into China. It was Japan which had it's own plans to plunder China, and it did it's job very quickly. The U.S. capitalists had earlier prepared their bases on Pearl Harbour to attack China and to plunder it. And the Japanese were well aware that the U.S. was planning to bomb them. So they bombed Pearl Harbour first. That committed the U.S. to an even bigger war on China and, indeed, to Japanese invasions all over the Pacific which the Americans had to flee. It was at this point the U.S. realized it needed more friends. Reluctantly, at the very end of 1942, it joined the war in Europe. But the bulk of it's army was never in Europe. Indeed, a large part of the western American army was in Africa. American capitalists were well aware of British control their over the oil fields there. And immediately after the war, American capitalists would force the British to give those oil fields to the U.S. Result? World War Two made Britain a shabby orphan largely caused by American actions. American behaviour in China has actually been overcome by the Chinese. (Not that the Bri4We However, it is quite possible that the U.S. will now destroy itself, having destroyed any agreement with what America means. Watch for major splits in the U.S. Watch for large sections of the U.S. breaking away - and maybe even for a civil war - which might have a fallout in Canada. There are just too many kinds of greed running loose in the U.S. Meanwhile, over 2O million Americans have no food. And that disorder in the U.S. might well have a dangerous impact on Canada. Also meanwhile, the U.S. is likely to turn loose the CIA, its murdering gang in the U.S. and all over the world including Canada. And it's very likely the CIA will murder Julian Assange. In all the last seventy years of murder, one thing is striking. The U.S. army, the most expensive and ruthless army in the world, has been a colossal failure in most of it's wars. Afghanistan is a strong example of that. And think hard, the Canadian army was just as brutal and ineffective in Afghanistan. (I really don't understand how the Canadian Legion and the Canadian government could be so brainless as to support the idea of fighting American wars.) Meanwhile, we're all pumping oil though we know that's killing us and destroying what's left of this world. Canadian governments (and a majority of the Canadian people so far have been quite brainless.

The Real World

Well, I'm at last settled in to Kingston. Bad timing though as Kingston is the Canadian leader in attracting covid. I begin with an apology. I have often used the Manchester Guardian as one of my sources for world affairs. Alas! It has slowly dawned on me that the Guardian is a very weak source. So I won't be using it again. So I'll limit sources to learn what's going on in the world. Wars are fought to benefit the rich. That's always been true. The people of ancient Rome lived in desperate poverty. And the Roman wars were fought only to benefit the rulers and the wealthy. The wars of the British Empire were fought by the poor. But the profits of war never reached most of the British people. The British people were dumped on the streets of Britain while the rich lived in aristocratic splendour. That even applied to World War Two. You'll never remember this from reading the papers. WW2 was really begun by the British upper class. Yes. It was. The treaty of Versailles that ended WW1 assigned no penalty on any country on either side. They all agreed that nobody was responsible for the war. And the British and French in particular soon lied about that 'agreement'. There was a Hitler. But he was a very minor figure with no followers at all. That changed beginning in the 1920s as Britain and France and others violated the Versaille peace treaty to plunder Germany.That is what created the despair of Germans - and led to the rise of Hitler in the 1930s. (I find the web sources remarkably shy about this.) Wars are almost always fought to benefit only the rich. In the U.S., military spending mostly benefits the rich to create the most expensive military in the world. Homeless children in the U.S. are dying in the streets. But there's no help for them. It all goes for the biggest military spending in the world - way, way ahead. And what has been the war record of the U.S.? Bloody feeble. This is the country that in 20 years couldn't beat the small population of a section of Afghanistan. In fact, the general American war record since 1945 has been pretty feeble. And the U.S. has forced Canadian troops at various points in the world to fight it's feeble wars. The American military has done a lousy job of fighting it's wars. But, oh, it's making piles of money of which we know nothing. Canadians have been damn fools to get involved in these wars.(Too bad nobody in The Canadian Legion has had the brains to see this.) The U.S. also funds Israel with billions of dollars so it can murder helpless Palestinians and steal their land. Alas - we have allowed Israel to become what Judaism is not. In fact, it more closely resembles Naziism.In Montreal, I often spoke to Jewish audiences, large ones. They were the most intelligent audiences I ever had (way ahead of Christians who were intellectually fuzzy and giggly.) I doubt very much that Canadian Jews would tolerate the behaviour of Israeli ones. Then there's the journalist - Julian Assange. He was a brillliant journalist and a very honest one. That's why he's been in solitary for over thirty years in Britain. That's why he suffered a stroke. He has never been charged by Britain or the U.S. for anything Of course not. He's never done anything illegal. That's why the U.S. wants him in their solitary confinement until he dies - or is killed by the CIA. (The function of the CIA is to murder people, including people of the U.S. and all the rest of the world.) And don't kid yourself. This manipulation of propaganda to serve the rich is also used by most governments - including Canada. Check out your local newspapers and radio stations. They're all full of lies. They're owned by the super rich, and their purpose has always been the same - to lie to us. That goes back for over 130 years. And that's why they write big stories about how cruel the Chinese are with the story about how a government official of China assaulted a Chinese tennis player. That's why they're teeming with news about how evil all Chinese are. In fact, such assaults are common in the U.S. and Canada, including the Canadian army going all the way up to it's generals and admirals. Don't waste your time on the commercial news media. In a later blog, I'll give you a list of honest news sites.

The Nazi world of western journalism.

I've often said that our news media are liars. I had many years of close contact with that. Reporters who tried to be honest were fired, and that's been going on for over a century. Julian Assange, an Australian journalist of great intelligence set out to tell the truth. And he soon realized that he wasn't going to tell the truth So he created his own reporting. That took the shape of news agency called Wikkileeks. What he reported was honest and quite legitmately true. But honesty and truth were precisely what the Australian government disliked. Assange had to get out of Australia - to carry on his news service in Britain and Scandinavia. The American CIA was furious, and actually, with the help of Britain, considered murdering him. (The CIA often works that way. They, after all, were major players in the murder of President Kennedy.) Instead, the British authorities (who were just as murderous as the American ones) placed him in various forms of solitary confinement and then to years in prison where he was allowed no visitors -and no contact even with other prisoners. The purpose was to drive him out of his mind. And it worked. (Remember, there was no trial, no valid reason to imprison him.) But the U.S.wanted him, too. No problem. The British courts, when asked if the U.S. wanted him, agreed he should be sent. I have read their decision. It is full of lies. And the U.S. lied about how it will treat him. It will, just like the British courts, push him into solitary confinement where they will finish the job of destroying him. And the CIA will go through the final stages of dragging him into deeper insanity and death. And don't expect your local newspaper to tell the truth about any of this. And the Liberals, the Conservatives, the American GOP and the Democrats will all cheer for his death. That, I'm afraid, is the real world we live in. We are the Nazis of our time. Graeme Decarie

Liar, liar, pants on fire....

Okay. What happened today in Ottawa is something I thought was going to happen. And it's disgrace for all Canadians. Americans have been told that China is evil because a Chinese government official sexually assaulted a young woman (who was - and is - an olympic tennis player for China.) I wrote about this yesterday. The U.S. government condemned this as a sign of China's evil. In fact,this sort of thing happens all the time in large numbers in the U.S. But the American press published this story as being a demonstration of the evil of Chinese. But that's not how the American press handled the story. It's news media never mentioned the scale of sexual attacks, especially in the American government. No.They reported it as something unique to China. Yes. Americans had to hate China. The next step happened today. Pierre Trudeau announced that Canada, like the U.S., would not participate in the Chinese Olympics because China was evil. And the Canadian news media have reacted in the same way as the American news media did. Yes, they expressed support for the U.S. position, completely ignoring the sexual brutality of some Canadian politicians. and ignoring the sexual abuse that has been inflicted by at least 7 generals in the Canadian army and an admiral in the Canadian navy - and, oh, there's a lot more than that. Count on it. And depend on the Canadian news media, like the American ones, to lie in their reporting. Canadian, like American news media, lie constantly. Though I was over thirty years a professor, I also was on thousands of radio and TV shows. And I was constantly aware of the dreadful decline I saw in our news media. The only Canadian news medium I saw that even tried to be honest was - and is - CBC. The rest of our news media are liars. Never trust any of them. Our governments and most of our news media are liars. They always have been. Oh, and let's make a guess. Why did Trudeau kiss America's ass today? That's almost certainly because President Biden told him - as American presidents have been telling us - to kill since 1949. And the Liberals and Conservatives have obeyed their American masters. Liberals and Conseratives are both cowards and liars. And this, very likely, is going to make us a branch of the U.S.

The End of Time

This is a late post because I have run into a crisis of time. On Dec. 13, I shall be moving from my home in Ottawa down to Kingston, some 2 or 3 hours south of here. And there is no hell like moving when you getting really old and very confused. I presume I'll be able resume this blog some time soon after my arrival in Kingston. In recent days, homeless people in Los Angeles have been dying at a tremendous rate. This, particularly, means children. They are dying in the high hundreds in just a few days. Did you read about this in your daily news media? Of course not. They never tell the truth. That applies to Canada as well as the U.S. (For years, I worked with reporters. And I watched the long procession of honest ones getting fired. Your daily news lies. They have, from the start back in the 1880's, been printing propaganda to please the super rich - who own the news media.) And think of this. As children die of hunger and savage living conditions all over the U.S. The country that encourages a small number of billionaires, those billionaires are getting rich, usually with the highest government regard for billionaires and trilionaires. It has the most expensive army in the world - by far - and, oh,all that military spending goes to the billionaires. The government of the U.S.also ensures hospital care - for the rich only. Any people who aren't super rich can't get medical care. American hospitals often have a minimum charge of 40,000 for any medical treatment. So those homeless people in Los Angelese are out of luck. And the U.S. has fallen back centuries into the middle ages. And almost the whole population of the U.S.is savaged into this. Canada is the same - though you're not likely know of this from reading your local newspaper. In evil China, the homeless recieve free housing in modern apartment buildings. But our commercial news media never mention that. Our news media tell us how evil the Chinese are - and the most recent foofara over that in our news media is a Chinese tennis player who was sexually assaulted by a minister in the Chinese government. Oh, evil. American and Canadian news media have played this big. Yes. We have to attack China for such evil. Let's get real, shall we? In the U.S. such assaults by men with power are common. And Canada? Yes, Canadians are just as bad. Our military, for example, has ranks up to general guilty of sexual assaults on women in the military. We have, in fact,moved back into the middle ages in which all power was in the hands of a small number - and with all the rest of us living in filth and hunger. And, inevitably, that will lead us into the final war that will destroy us all. That is where capitalism will lead us. Meanwhile, the homeless of Los Angeles will go on dying. And the super rich will go on letting them die.

I strongly advise you to read Information Clearing House on your computer. Then Type in presidential clearing house. And following that read Kennedy killed by CIA. Or President John F. Kennedy, His life and public assassination. (I hope all that works.) The CIA is a secret army closely tied to American capitalists. It was the army that murdered thousands of priests, nuns and missionaires in Guatemala - and infuriated President Kennedy who was very much against war. But American capitalists, close to the CIA, were determined to conquer the world after 1945 - the whole world. (Yes, And they wanted Kennedy dead. And the CIA served American capitalists. And, in 1963, it murdered Kennedy. Following that the succeeding presidents, all of them, did whatever the CIA told them to do.) Oh, and one of the countries that had to obey was Canada. That's why Canada spent twelve years killing Afghans in a war that had nothing to do with Canada. That's why you can expect Canada (and the Canadian Legion) to kiss American asses. After all, U.S. capitalists are determined to conquer the whole world - and that includes Canada. And that, incidentally, is why the U.S.has to murder millions, perhaps billions, of Chinese. China has been developing hugely in recent years. In fact, it is outclassing the U.S. economy. This has to be stopped. Oh, and the CIA will be telling Canada to join the U.S. massacre of Chinese. (And the Canadian Legion will cheer.) Oh, there's a catch. China has developed a nuclear rocket bomb that can fly around the world at a speed so great that nothing can stop it. (I don't know how many it has.) Get used to it. The U.S. has been going to war for hundreds of years - and almost full time. It is the most murderous country in the world. (And it is the only country that has many times invaded Canada.) And it is now, it seems, a collapsing nation. It is not a democracy. It never was. People who say it's a democracy have no idea what the word democracy means. And now, it is governed by the CIA and it's capitalist followers. American Glory

I have just read a report that is stunning. Indeed, it's the only believeable report on the murder of John F. Kennedy that makes sense. The usual story is that as he rode in a parade in a Texas city, a man shooting from an office building at a distance shot him. There has always been a lot of questioning about that. So here's an analysis that makes sense. At the end of World War Two, American capitalists expected (and still expect) to rule the world. That was widely supported by most Americans -and especially by the military and by the usual American hitmen (through agencies like the CIA which was already murdering Priests, nuns and missionaries in Guatemala) and - by most Americans as a deserved glory, glory, glory. They would rule the whole world. They're still working on that. That's what all the Americans overseas are doing - murdering millions to put their survivors under the control of American capitalists. That was the theme of American settlers and capitalists. And it still is. But that was not the view John F. Kennedy had. Kennedy hated war. He had fought in World War Two. He had watched some of his crew dying when his torpedo boat was sunk by a Japanese destroyer. He had seen a world that repelled him. He was very different from most Americans. Starting from kindergarten, American children had been raised on the glory of war and conquest. In fact, all American wars from the earliest settlers (and those wars were almost constant - native peoples, what was early on was Mexico which lost what is now the American west coast. Mexico also lost Texas and other states. These were all wars of the rich - fought to make them even richer. By world war two, American capitalists were happily deep in blood after plundering and mass murder over Latin America (failing to get Canada but that's coming.) Though born into a wealthy family, Kennedy's war experience made him different from other presidents. He wanted nothing to do with using the presidency to please murderous billionaires. He wanted nothing to do with billionaires, and hit men, and CIA, and all the other groups kissed up to the billionaires and government thugs and the military that wanted more war and more death. He refused to have anything to do with them. In short, Kennedy hated war, all war. And that did not go down well with American capitalists and the military, and killer agents and of the American government. At the end of world war 2, they saw all this. And what they wanted was a war of mass killing ending with American billionaires owning the whole world. And Kennedy was in the way. There has always been doubt about his killer, the man with a rifle shooting from a high story. Indeed, he was shooting at rather a long range - and there has always been a doubt that he was shooting at all, that there was another sniper supplied with the same bullets that he had. And that is why the "sniper" was killed soon after. But one thing is certain. Immediately after the death of Kennedy, the whole American army, the CIA, all of the forces became world murderers - and they have been to this day. But

Damn, Damn, Damn

I'm heading into a tumultuistime as I prepare to move from Ottawa down the road to Kingston on Dec. 13. I also need to get some serious repairs to my computer. So I'll be writing shorter blogs for a while. You may have noticed that the U.S. is very angry because a Chinese government official forced himself on China's leading tennis player. U.S.papers and TV have made a huge fuss of this. It has actually sent an official warning to China, and it has demanded full explanations and apologies. Indeed, the U.S. response is a clear threat of war on China for this act. (The tennis player reappered even as the U.S. got indignant. She seemed happy and smiling. I have no idea if there was such a sexual attack. I suspect there was.) But think hard. Has there ever been such an attack in any western country? Well, yes. In fact, it's standard practice in western countries - especially in the U.S.- and including Canada. Indeed, the U.S. in it's wars since 1949 has not only been a killer of women -and children and babies, on such a scale that it runs into millions for which nobody knows the count. (You might even ask the Canadian Legion to tell us about it's behaviour in twelve years of war in Afghanistan. Do you seriously think Canadians are different from Americans?) I don't know how many women (and children and babies) have been killed by the U.S. with Canadian help. I've seen estimates that run up as high as 50 million. Indeed, the U.S. has been a mass murderer of men women and children going all the way back to the earliest British settlers. So why is the U.S. murdering so much now? That's because it wants to ramp up hatred for a war against China as in Chinese are evil, Chinese are perverts--- (Americans are children of God.) And, yes, most Americans are dumb enough to believe that. (And lots of Canadians are, too.) And so Americans - and Canadians - will chant kill, kill, kill...hate... The purpose is to suck you in to the horror that can quite possibly destroy all of us. And, no. I'm not exaggerating. China and Russia are way ahead in nuclear weapons. They have rocket bombs that can fly over the whole world and hit any target. And if you believe our governments, you're a damn fool. China is not an evil country getting ready to kill us. It's sin is that it's outclassing our capitalists. Our sin is believing what our newspapers and TV tell us.

To The End of Time

As we approach today's blog, there's something we have to remember. The U.S. is the most vicious and murderous country in the world. And perhaps that should not surprise us. And no, I'm not exaggerating. It is the offspring of the British Empire in it's most vicious and murderous days. There's a good deal of that in Canada's treatment of it's native people, too, of course. But the U.S. has been much, much worse for all of American history. The U.S. has been killing,capturing, murdering, torturing in almost every year of it's existing - something like 9 years out of every ten. And it was several times invaded Canada - and ,no, it was not because Canada was attacking it. These days, the U.S. and it's newspapers and TV are cheering on it's murderous and torturing ways. So it was that it tortured and murdered men, women, and children. So it is that it now murders people all over the world because it now has a vision of murdering and plundering all over the world in places we never even hear of. The reason it entered World War Two had nothing to do with the evil of Hitler. (The U.S. was always worse than Nazi Germany. The U.S. entered the war because it wanted to take over the British-owned oil fields of the middle east, and it wanted (oh it wanted)to get control of China now that the British were kicked out. And it wanted to plunder and murder China as the British had. (American capitalists wanted that. China has, for the most part, been retaking what were once Chinese countries - like Taiwan.) The U.S. can achieve that only by nuclear bombing and so murdering a billion more Chinese elderly, adults, children,babies. So far, Canada has kissed the American ass in all these ventures. We are American puppets. Our news media aren't telling us, but I'm quite sure that we have been as brutal in some of these American wars. (In Afghanistan, we murdered people for 12 years. Why? Canadian governments have been gutless. And, oh, as long as Canadians are gutless and as long as The Legion is brainless, we are and will be murderers for an unspeakably vicious American nation. Yes. Of course. The U.S. will ask (tell) us to help it in murdering Chinese. The U.S. is a huge killing machine, the most vicious in the world, the most murderous bastard we have ever seen. And the Legion will send our young people to cheer on the killing. Get used to it. Make no mistake, the U.S. is the most savage and murderous country in the world. And it knows no limit to it's killing. This is an intensity of murder, plunder, rape, torture of the most brutal kind going back hundreds of years. Will Canada plunge into this war and it's unspeakable tragedy? You can bet on it. Our Legion tells us to obey the Americans. Oh, as the horror deepens, as both Canada and the U.S. suffer from our utter failure to deal with climate change, the U.S. will be taking over large parts of eastern Canada for more American cities to escape the horror afflicting so many American cities. Oh, there's another danger that's hard to appraise yet. The U.S. is, in effect, in a civil war. It never was a democracy. Nor was Canada. (almost all Canadians and Americans have no idea what the word democracy means. No. It does not mean to have a right to vote. A democracy is a society in which all people have an equal right to vote. And that's not true of a U.S. in which the super rich or a Canada in which the super rich have always dominated elections. (I really wish more Canadians would would take the trouble to understand that. We Canadians have usually elected corrupt Liberals and Conservatives. Thus so many of our provinces and, indeed, our country, are run by feather heads. Thus Trudeau as premier, the Ontario government, Alberta, a New Brunswick run by the plundering Irving family. So it is that the Legion will plunge Canada into a war that will really have nothing to do with Canada (like Afghanistan). We will send Canadians for terrible and quite uncessary murdering of at least a billion humans (and possibly many of us). We will be there as the ass-kissing servants of the most brutal, murderous bastards this world has ever known. At the end of it - well - we will get nothing except a world that will be a place of unlimited savagery as created by the most evil and vicious murder of a world. But, then, Cheer up. The billionaires of Canada, like the billionaires of the U.S.,I'm quite sure have their hiding places. Before we kiss up to the most vicious and murderous nation this world has known, we had better think of what we're doing. Our only chance of survival is to kick out our billionaires and to become a real democracy. (The U.S. will never do that. It has shifted almost all it's money into the pockets of the super rich, debased salaries of the poor, thrown its people into the streets, made the price of medical care impossible for most of the population. At the same time, it has taken us back to the world of fifteen hundred or so when most people lived in hunger and poverty - only kings and lords were allowed power. The U.S., for hundreds of years, has been the most evil and murderous country in the world. This is the beginning of an end which is within life times of our children.

One Hell of a Bad World

The big news of the day might appear in our commercial news media. But I doubt it. China has fired a super and ultra hypersonic speed missile capable of carrying nuclear bombs. It went all around the world and back to China. I doubt whether it has many. But it is capable of plunging any nuclear bomb onto --- us. Will the U.S. get the hint? (I doubt it. More likely, it will continue to attack China setting off the most destructive war in history. And the superich of the west? They will be off into their shelters with their servants and flunkies.) Even from it's earliest contact with native peoples, the US has been non-stop murderous with native peoples, with Mexicans, with Latin Americans, and now with dozens of countries our news media don't tell us about. And, despite it's free use of mass murder including babies, it's common and illegal use of torture, it's illegal use of bombing of countries it's not at war with, the plundering of it's own people - throwing millions into the streets, It's unmatched military spending while many, many (most) millions of Americans suffer starvation and lack of medical care.... this is actually worse than the British Empire was. In all of it's wars since 1949 and it's huge expenditure on war (the biggest in the world) the American military has not been impressive since 1949. (The American war machine also supplies, free of charge, nations all over the world - Israel, for example, so it can murder it's neighbours.) China is actually far, far more peaceful than the U.S. is. In fact, China's wish to add Taiwan to it is quite reasonable. Taiwan was a part of China until it was taken by our good friend Chiang Kai-Shek who used it as a base to control the sale of narcotics all over the region. At this point I remember Trudeau, a couple of years ago, I think, standing at the U.S. border and and assuring American politicians and oil bosses, Canada would welcome them to send pipelines to B.C. At the same time Canada's Liberals and Conservatives Assured the oil industry of Canada it was welcome. And do you know that Canadian oil production is fourth in the world at 5.26 million barrels a day? To make it worse, we are destroying our forests (especially in New Brunswick) which hugely adds to the carbon dioxide in our air. Will the Glasgow meeting on climate control change anything? No. Though our news media have not said so, that conference in Glasgow was a farce dominated the very large presence of trillionaires. (What the hell were trillionaires doing at such a meeting? The reality of our Conservatives, Liberals, and both U.S. parties is they were all fronting for the wealthy people who owned them.) This is a short blog because I've been plagued with the sicknesses all us old folks have.But I have lots more material. So I'll be getting back to the rest of us. And BC is a taste of what's coming to us.

I've been away (in Montreal) for several days. On returning I've learned that one of my students from many years ago is now one of our readers. John Watt was my student in grade 4 in my first teaching job, at Parkdale School (in St. Laurent). It was delightful to hear from him. After several years of dreadful jobs, teaching grade four was a delight. And I do really, really thank him for reminding me of those happy days. A big kiss for John Watt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ alas! The rest of this blog is less happy. The U.S. has far the most expensive army in the world. For almost 70 years it's military has been killing millions all over the world. And it's record is almost laughable. The U.S. murders millions all over that world which, really, it was doing on an almost daily basis from the start. And the people the wars were fought to please were the wealthy of the U.S. who wanted the plunder. (Look - almost all wars are fought to benefit the super rich. And that has been true for the super rich all over the world and all through history.) But this expensive gang of thugs and torturers has lost wars even from the tiniest of enemies (Like Afghanistan. And the Canadians, since the beginning of our subservience (and ass kissing of Americans) have been no better. (But the Canadian Legion will wet it'd pants at any chance to fight for the U.S. and murder at least a billion Chinese- mostly non-soldiers, women and children.) This war has to be fought in unconventional terms. And that means nuclear weapons. But those come at a terrible risk. China and Russia both have advanced systems of nuclear warfare. And these weapons can now reach North American targets. But don't fret. The super rich of Canada and the U.S. will be undercover in those days. You think I'm exaggerating? Not a bit. Our super rich don't care who they kill so long as it's not them. And the U.S. army is trained in torture. Guantanamo is just one centre that holds dozens of prisoners for (illegal) torture. Hitler is gone. But Americans are the new Naziis. And, no, I am not exaggerating. And Trudeau is a wimp. So are the Conservative leaders. Neither Canada nor the U.S. is a democracy by any definition. Luckily for the Liberals and Conservatives, Canadians have no knowledge of what the word democracy means. But you cannot have politicians who are owned by billionaires. Really, there are very, very few democracies in our world. I might add that our churches have been no help. (Of course, one doesn't expect anything intelligent from the Jesus jumpers of the fundamentalist churches. but the Catholic and the Protestant mainstream churches have been no help at all in this. Of course, they never have been.) In every western church I've heard of, all have supported wars - and were based on nationality. The German churches supported Hitler in 1939. The Anglicans of Britain supported the mass murder and plundering of the British Empire at it's foulest. American churches reacted not at all to the American murder of native peoples and to the U.S. constant war and plunder throughout it's history. And in Canada we have Catholics who have been murdering uncounted thousands of native children. And they've made it clear they have no intention of dealing with that. In China? It's quite possible, almost certain, we're now approaching the final war. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The world's leaders met in Glasgow to discuss a plan to deal with climate change. This was a very big meeting. And it accomplished nothing. I don't know what our news media have reported about it. I learned a long time ago to ignore our commercial news media. The reality that I've learned from more honest sources is that the end of this conference was a failure. Conclusions were extremely vague. And the roles of gasoline and coal were so as not to offend the oil industry or coal.`And, well, we don't have the time for that. Who am I?

I've been writing for this site for quite a while now. But readers still don't know who I am or what qualifications I have to write a column. so.... I was born at the height of the depression and grew up into one of the worst districts in the city. We were just a walk from the Italian Mafia area. Our next door neighbour was a small time mafia killer who was found one morning in a shallow lake with chains wrapped around him. The English population in that district was very, very small. And the French gangs would patrol the streets to kick us into the sidewalks. (boys fought. girls played. My sister was quite fluent in French by the age of six.) At the age of 9 I moved into a school notorious for overage and brutality. In grade 11 I was notorious for skipping school. They Principal called me down. Let's face it, he said, you have no brains at all. Pack up your books and get a job. So I got one in the horrible factory my father worked in. Well, where I lived it didn't matter. Almost all my friends dropped out even earlier. We weren't expected to have any brains. However, I finished high school in a special class for morons. And that got me into night courses in university where I did terribly but (barely) passed. My father was very upset that I was trying to rise above my station. Kids where I lived weren't supposed to rise. But my next step took me to a teaching diploma which was a happy choice. I learned how to teach , and I had three wonderful years as a grade four teacher, then three more as a high school teacher. Then there was that glorious summer in a Nova Scotia university (Acadia). I got an A. I went home and crushed my parents who felt I was rising above my station. My father, a very powerful man, tried to throw me down the stairs. But I went to Acadia for 2 years. That got me into a PhD programme at a prestigious school. And I passed. Dr. Graeme Decarie Ph.D. I wish I could say was was impressed by professors. I wasn't. They had a quite bloated image of how wonderful they were. And they really didn't know how to teach. They still don't. (I published an article on that which has never made me any friends.) But I liked the teaching part. I also was on radio ever morning. And I was on TV uncountable times acoss Canada. In a typical year, I also gave public talks to large audiences. My favourite audiences were Jewish. (Christians, I learned, were a pretty trivial bunch.) Oh, and I often wrote - but didn't like it. Our news media are liars that I preferred to have nothing to do with. Oh, I also had rather exciting times. My university often sent me to teach in universities in Hong Kong and the Netherlands. I was to boost students who would come to my university. loved it. Another oh, I was over twenty years as a senior executive in Alliance Quebec, an organization to save the English in Separatist Quebec. And that was over twenty years of death threats, extremely dangerous situations, an attack to plunder my home........

Bad, Bad Times

The American military, for all it's size and cost, has really not been impressive in it's wars since 1945 - even though all of them have been against vastly inferior opponents and it's use of torture. That was true from the start as it plunged into a wars against Korea, Bay of Pigs in Cuba, Afghanistan, and others. In fact, we have no idea how many wars it has been losing because our news hasn't been telling all of them. Now, the U.S. has by far the biggest and most expensive army in the world. And it's been losing to much smaller and poorer countries. It's too bad that the Canadian Legion hasn't noticed that before sending off Canadians to kill and die in wars that have nothing to do with them. But, then, the Legion has always been more than a little retarded. The U.S. has by far the biggest military financing in the world. It's military development has been lavish - so much so that it financially outclasses everybody.But it's performance has been in the toilet. Afghanistan, the part the U.S. fought in, was a very small power. And the U.S. couldn't handle that - not even when Canada joined it. (And that, incidentally, was with the full support of the Canadian Legion. Think about that before you send more Canadians to get killed in somebody else's wars.) The U.S. is now getting ready for a massive attack with nuclear missiles that would be likely to kill a billion and more Chinese, men, women and children who don't deserve to die. But the world of nuclear missiles has changed. Russia and China now have nuclear missiles - and it's one hell of a different world for us. Russia and China have developed missiles far exceeding the destructiveness of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nuclear missiles can now be fired at unbelievable speeds at least half way around the world to----us. As well, they can be and are fired from Russian and Chinese submarines. I am suddenly reminded of billionaires bragging of some years ago. They were building mansions underneath the desert sands. There, at any sign of danger, they would live in those monster mansions under the sand that they and their servants and flunkies, perhaps a hundred or so for each underground mansion. I know that 'mansions' were built. And in a world of nuclear missiles your only hope might be to kiss up as a servant - if you can find an underground mansion. We live in one hell of an ugly world with every possibility and likelihood of our destruction. Ever notice how few of our billionaires ever enter military service? As I flicked through my computer I came across a picture of a Ukrainian soldier. (Ukraine was neatly taken from Russia by American intrusion.) The soldier had a symbol which is worn, I guess, by all of them. It was a swastika.And he's on our side. Whoopee!

Who Started World War Two?

Well, check the web. It will say it was Hitler. But it wasn't. At the Versailles peace meeing in 1919, it was decided there would be no penalties for World War One since all were guilty of that war. But the British feared an economic rise of Germany. So the British, quite illegally, invaded Germany shortly after the war and destroyed the German economy, reducing it to a nation of unmatched poverty. Well, Britain for centuries had murdered and plundered all over the world for centuries. And it was far from democracy. The British common people of the time lived in horrible poverty with no hope of ever getting out of it. British life was ruled by an aristocracy who didn't give a damn for the common people. Commonly, they had almost no chance for opportunity of any sort. No. They lived in filth and ignorance. Almost the only employment was to join the army, and murder Chinese and Indian peoples. The very rich were the senior services of the army. The regulars? They served and killed for pennies a day. And when they were no longer useful, they were dumped onto the streets of Britain and, there, commonly, to die. Of course, that never made our lying news media. They were owned by the super rich. One of the leading murderers of the common people was a member of the aristocracy named Winston Churchill. When I was a teenager, like most people, I was dazzled by him. I didn't know what a murderous bastard he was throughout his life. In addition to killing innocent people all over the world, (especially India where he cut off all food to many millions of people, deliberately starving them to death), he was, contrary to popular belief, a not very effective PM in WW2.) The British people knew he was, all his life, a murderous bastard in his attitude to the poor. That's why they voted him out shortly before the war ended. A great man? No. Winston Churchill was a very wealthy member of the aristocracy with nothing by contempt for the English majority. Much as the rich praised him, he was a contemptible man. But back to the British destruction of the German economy in 1919. That destruction is what caused World War Two. A man who watched it was a German veteran named Adolph Hitler. He desperately wanted to be a national leader. But few had any interest in him. However, that British invasion of Germany and destruction of it's economy is what pulled Germany together behind Hitler. So what caused Hitler's rise? It was the British government. That's who. (And, yes, Hitler was terribly destructive. But the British, with their mass murder especially in Asia, were actually worse.) And that takes us to the U.S. The idea that the U.S. brought democracy to the world and God bless and all that stuff is pure bullshit. The U.S. began life as a branch office of Britain. And George Washington preserved that. There was no democracy in the early U.S. - and there still isn't. (Alas! Most Canadians and Americans have not the faintest idea what democracy means. _ I'm quite serious. The earliest Europeans to land on American shores were British. And they have remained British to this day. That is, they a ruled by the murderous power they had known in Britain. George Washington's family was, in Britain, a family of the aristocracy. The British family was in decline, but George Washington was as British as they came. So forget the crap about God blessing America. Forget democracy in America. Most people, American and Canadian, to this day have not the faintest idea was the word democracy means.Forget equality. The U.S. was never one of those. (And we have no reason, none whatever, to think that God blesses the U.S. or Canada.) The U.S., just like Britain, has been as murderous as the British was. On a rough count, the U.S. has been a killer for, roughly, nine years out of ten. throughout it's history. It murdered the native peoples even more than Canada did - and Canada was pretty evil in that category. Washington's U.S. was a repeat of the British slaughter of people all over the world. Almost all of Latin America has been victim to that. It got into world War 2 to swipe as much as possible of the old British empire. In particular, it wanted to swipe British territories in China - which is why it encouraged Chiang Kai Shek's massive opium trade. It also used the war to swipe British trade in the oil countries of the middle east. That's why, to this day, it refuses to deal with the American billionaires who are spreading carbon dioxcide in our skies. (And that's why the not very intelligent premier Trudeau is encouraging the oil industry in Canada. (Trudeau is pretty weak and not very bright. Conservative leaders in Canada are even more retarded. And alas, Canadian voters. for the most part and like Americans, have no idea what the meaning of democracy is.} In the early 1950's the U.S. added torture to its menu. (That's illegal, by the way, but that's what Guantanamo is all about - and other sites all over the world. Among other joys, prisoners can be soaked in cold water for a week and more with no food - and kept alive for all that time. Then it gets worse. It also has a domestic murder gang called the CIA that tortures and murders citizens and other the U.S called the CIA. They have attempted to murdered Australia's Julian Assange, a thoroughly honest - and quite brilliant reporter they want to kill because he's honest. Britain has been holding him in solitary for years without trial or charges. Now the U.S. wants him so it can finish killing him. (without trial.) Neither Britain nor the U.S. will ever set him free. Don't waste your time checking all this in the news. I was daily on the radio news and often paper news media for 30 years. I know how cowardly our news media are. And I know that most (all) of our news media are owned by liars for the very rich. That was always true for print, from it's earliest days in the late 19th century through the years of radio and TV. All are owned by billionaires. And they have, long ago, refused to hire intelligent reporters. The one medium I know that is far, far better than the rest is CBC. And it has an excellent spinoff on the web with a site called Rabble.ca which is staffed by intelligent and honest people. There is more, far more to say about all this. You might start out with learning what democracy means and why torture is evil. Meanwhile, Canada spent 12 years murdering Afghans. The Americans were mass murdering children, babies, civilians in general. They were torturing. It is not possible to believe that the Canadian troops along with the Americans didn't do the same. Any thoughts on that - Canadian Legion? No. Thinking is not a strong point of the Canadian Legion. And what the hell gives it the right to approve or disapprove of Canadian wars?

Betcha didn't know the American government can imprison people with no charge and no trial.

This may be a brief post. My computer has gone quite insane - and I don't know which repair shop I should go to. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We don't hear about it, but world governments have been subsidizing coal, oil, and gas - the enemies that will destroy our planet - to the tune of a million dollars every minute. And Canada is a world leader at 64 billion a year plus hidden tax breaks. Bless you, all those thoughtful Canadian Liberals, especially Trudeau, and all those dim wit Conservatives. The reality is those two parties dominate because our billionaires own them. No. Canada and the U.S. are not democracies. No country can be a democracy when it is owned by it's capitalists. The Liberals and Conservatives (and Democrats and GOP) are owned by our billionaires. They, not the voters, get to decide who will govern. And the result in every election in history is that those parties get to govern. We live in one hell of a undemocratic country. But it used to be worse. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At one time, Canadian hospitals were capitalist operations, like the U.S. And, like the U.S., they charged clients terribly. Today, and unlike the U.S., our hospitals are available to all who need their care. And that change had nothing to do with Liberals or Conservatives. That was pushed through in the 1950s by the socialist CCF party. Ever since then our capitalists have been looking for ways to bleed us. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And gee, who woulda guessed it? Climate change is not a recent development. No. There was a conference of oil companies who knew exactly what was coming - and this conference of Exon, BP, Chevron, Shell and others kept their secret, leaving us in ignorance of what they were doing in poisoning our skies, our environment.... ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ One day I was on morning radio in a discussion when we were stunned by the news that a U.S. sky scraper had been crashed into by a passenger jet plane full of innocent passengers. Then there was a second, then another in a field, and another into the Pentagon. We could only stare in horror, and in fear of where this would take us. The U.S government led by the dimwitted president Bush, immediately said the villain was Afghanistan- and he declared war on it. In fact..... Afghanistan had nothing to do with it (but the U.S. did have an interest in Afghanistan's mineral resources.) However.... The attackers on that terrible day were NOT Afghans. They were from that good friend of the U.S. Saudi Arabia. But the U.S. has never said that. (So much for the honesty of the New York Times, The Toronto papers, the Montreal papers, in fact, so much for the whole U.S. and Canadian news media.) In fairness, the experience of that war gave a boost to all those brave American soldiers (and Canadians?) who murdered uncounted thousands (or more) of Afghan adults, children and babies. Gee. The Canadian Legion, as I recall it, approved of the war against Afghanistan. Any thoughts on that from the Canadian Legion? No. The Legion isn't big on thinking. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For twenty years, the democracy loving U.S. has asserted it's right to imprison people - with no charge and no trial. And it does so - often. God bless America. The Bad News About the world's most evil nation (just south of our border) and our wimpyness

This is just a short note because I'm having big problems with my computer, and I have to find one hell of a good repair man. Just a reminder of how evil our world has become. I live in Ottawa, and in this cold night there are parents and children sleeping out in the streets. We're not as bad as the U.S. yet. But that's what they're heading for. What the hell are we thinking of? Like the U.S. we squander money on billionaires who are the savages that marked our world for centuries. By savages, I don't mean our native peoples. In fact, our native peoples are not and never were savages. We are the savages who killed them. The U.S. is even worse, of course - but we're catching up. I don't know how bad it is for those families. And the children have no chance at all. I was a child in the depression years. I know what it means to grow up in terrible poverty - though it was nothing remotely as bad as our medieval treatment. I do remember, though, that I often had no lunch and I got kicked out of high school. Nobody expected me to do better. Nobody cared. My parents expected me to get kicked out like the rest of my friends. So I became an unskilled worker in a very low paying job - and in a filthy factory where almost all the workers were drunk most of the time. My parents were very proud of me. It took me years to get over that. It was a miracle I survived that. Now, Canada and the U.S. have millions of children in the U.S. and Canada who are living childhood far worse than mine. They're dying of hunger, of shelter, while we shovel billions and trillions down the guts of billionaires. We have moved back to the middle ages. Yes. I say that very seriously. We have no agency to deal with that. And meanwhile we have institutions that should be charging to the help of those people. But they aren't doing anything. Our churches really have done --- nothing. And they've done nothing for centuries. It makes me feel ill to see how useless they have been. We all have taken a huge leap back into a horrible world. And I very much fear it's going to be worse. The U.S., which, for centuries, has been the most murderous in the world has become, for the last 70 years, the most vicious and least effective of the major powers. Yes. It's a real loser. So that is setting us up for a nuclear war with more murder than any war in the past. We could be talking trillions of dollars destruction of China which, incidentally, is far, far less a murderer than the U.S. is. Oh, and lots of countries will take advantage of this as an excuse for their wars. And Canada is copying the U.S. war model. The Legion is the face of the new Canadian worship of our troops who, like the U.S., now kill children, civilians.... I really don't understand why The Legion exists. It's really nothing more than a booze parlour. And it happily sends us to wars that have nothing to do with us. (Think of all the wars cheered on by the Legion since 1949.) I have never heard anything intelligent from the legion. But it's members all burp for a war - any war. (My father was in the navy in WW2. So he went to a legion meeting. It was just a drunken party,so he left early and never went back. Why do our newspapers always promote the opinions of The Legion?) We are being set up for the most terrible war has ever seen. And, given the greed (and wimpiness) of our political leaders and of the Canadian people, Canada will join it. Oh. Another annoyance is our news media. Every day, I study the state of the world. And I never use any media accounts. I was over thirty years as a broadcaster and writer. And I can tell you our news media lie. I know of only two exceptions to that. One (mostly) is The Manchester Guardian. The other (not perfect but honest) is Canada's CBC. All the others are liars. Today, an honest and very capable journalist named Julian Assange has been in a British prison in solitary for some years. There is no charge. No trial. But the U.S. wants him, also with no charge. If the U.S. gets him, he will almost certainly be killed. In fact, it's long been known that the CIA, with the blessing of the American government, wants him dead. His sin? As a journalist he always told the truth and telling the truth is now a crime. But you can use our news media and never know that. (In fact, at the end of WW2, the U.S. happily took in the Naziis who had been Hitlers leading figures, and brought them into American political life.) Well, I now have to see if I can get this computer repaired. Graeme Decarie. The most murderous nation in the world is the U.S - by far. It has been for centuries. It's also a nation that happily murders it's own people.

Don't kid yourself. We are heading for the end.

Man first appeared on this planet many, many, many thousands of years ago. And some of them, probably just a small number, gave themselves the power to rule all the rest. Humans are the only example of that behaviour. Other animals may occasionally get more angry with each other. But humans are the only creatures to obey a small group and to accept that small group as their masters. We have to understand that humans have always been governed by other humans going back to our earliest days on this planet. We have always been governed by a very small majority interested only in their own power and wealth. They wealthy of Rome lived in splendour. The great mass of the people of Rome died in the streets, and were casually dumped in great, mass pits of thousands at a time. The Emperors of Rome were certainly not bright, nor did they govern for the betterment of the people of Rome. They governed simply to enrich themselves. I don't know how far this practice goes. But it is still the way we govern. Rich kids grow up knowing that this is their world.The likes of super rich like the Irvings can roll in their piles of money - and this in a province that is poor. The rich have a right - going back for tens of thousands of years to be rich, to skip taxes. This has been the fact. The rich have been the rich going back countless thousands of years. And for the rest of us? We can sleep in the filth and pain of the streets. This is what we always have been. This is what we still are. I grew up in a district of Montreal noted for violence, murder and dreadful exploitation, As children, we were taught to know we were poor and weak - and always would be. We were expected by our parents to become poor - just like them. So when I got kicked out of high school, there was no anger or even sadness. No, this was a wonderful opportunity to work in a foul industrial shop largely staffed by drunks. Like many of my earlier classmates, this was to be my class in the world. In the U.S. and Canada today, billionaires are the equivalent of the same sort of bastards who enrich themselves - and let millions die in misery. This is the equivalent of the horror that was ancient Rome and of every Empire since then (and before then). The billionaires actually pay almost nothing in taxes. They actually get bonusses - such as cash grants to billionaires who produce ever more weapons to kill children and their parents all over the world while American children and their parents die on the streets. (And this happens in Canada, too.) Do the billionaires always go to church? Oh,yes. They're real Jesus Jumpers. President George W. Bush is a regular church goer - but it never interfered with his launching of a war in Afghanistan that set new standards for the murders of children and even babies. His father was even worse. He led in a new war of hired mercenaries to slaughter priests, nuns, and missionaries in Guatemala. Our Canadian equivalents of this behaviour has been the Irving family of New Brunsick. So far as I know, it doesn't directly kill the poor. But it's still a centre of greed that bleeds away the incomes of New Brunswickers and that destroys the hopes of the coming generation. But,like almost all the rich hypocrites in history, the Irving's go to church. In fact, they built the church and modestly named it after themselves. Just a short walk down the road from the "chapel" is a Catholic church whose graveyard holds the body of a missionary that was murdered by George Bush Sr. hired thugs in Guatemala. But I doubt that the Irving's ever look at it. And, certainly, they never allowed the Irving newspapers (all of them) to tell the story of how that missionary died. Oh, anyone should know that American governments, GOP Democrat, are not democracies. They never have been. And Canada's Liberal and Conservative parties are not democracies. But the reality is that most Canadians and Americans have no idea of that. In a real democracy, the people are in a real control of the vote. But in Canada and the U.S. billionaires pay those four parties so they can win - and so neither Canada nor the U.S. has EVER been a democracy. (In fact, you might find it hard to track down any country that ever has been a democracy. Britain, for almost all of its history, has been a country governed by it's aristocracy. And the British newspapers, owned by the upper classes, almost all support the rich.) In a democracy, the people have to have the power to challenge the wealth of the super rich. And that is exactly what the American, British and Canadian Journalists never do. Canada's Liberal and Conservative parties are owned by billionaires. Anybody should be able to recognize that. But Canadian voters are as thick as they come. They are ignorant as the American parties are. The only party in Canada that is a democratic on is the NDP. It is the only party not owned by billionaires. But will Canadian voters ever know that? Nah. Oh, and where do the churches fit into all this? I don't know how devout Christians were in the days of Rome. But I do know that for many, many, many centuries the Christian churches have always supported their king or emperor or whatever. In World War Two, British, Canadian and American Christian churches were all on the side of the British, Canadians and Americans. (The worst and most simple minded of the churches are the evangelicals. And the German churches were all on the side of Hitler. And the Italians on the side of a pope trying to be on neither side. And when the U.S. murders children and babies, American (and Canadian and British) churches clap hands for our side. There is nothing in our churches that has anything to do with the teaching of Christ. Today, the U.S. is anxious to get it's hands on an Australian journalist named Julian Assange. Assange was a brilliant journalist who told the truth. The U.S. government doesn't like people who tell the truth. It was particularly angry when he founded an intelligent and honest news service called Wikkileaks. Everything he said was truthful and honest. So the U.S. drove him into isolation. As a sideline, the CIA tried to kill him - and its been trying every since. Assange had to take refuge in a British government building. But the British kissed American asses. He was put into a British prison - without trial. And he went deep into the hell of solitary. But the U.S. wanted him in their solitary confinement - again without having committed any crime. (And it's no secret that the CIA is eager to murder him.) As matters stand, Assange is a man who has never committed any crime. He's a brilliant and honest journalist who has pretty much been destroyed by corrupt journalists - and, oh, we have a hell of a lot of those. The modern newspapers go back to the late 1800's. And they've always been liars. They are devices of the super rich to give themselves power. (I live in Ottawa where we get ghastly newspapers from Toronto.) I don't know of any commercial newspapers in North America that are not ghastly. (And yes, I would include the New York Times in that.) We are still living back, thousands of years back, when a small number of people made themselves rich and powerful as kings and emperors - and most of the rest of were cheap labour who lived in the filth and poverty of the streets. (And, gee, the U.S. is becoming very much like that. So is Canada.) And the American military have been trying very hard to take this power to domination of the whole world for American trillionaires. The major target is China. And this will be a war that will call for massive killing with nuclear bombs what will obliterate uncountable millions - maybe billions. And, yes, this will set off hundreds of nuclear bombs all over the world. Horrible as they were, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were only two bombs. This one will almost certainly set off many hundreds of nuclear bombs, and much more powerful ones,all over the world as in China, the Middle East - and possibly with some hitting the U.S. and Canada. But don't worry. The super rich will have found excellent hiding places even as the rest of us dive for shelter that really isn't there. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Our Savage Neighbours

This isn't a pleasant entry. Until almost a hundred years ago, Britain was the world's leading murderer and plunderer. So it's no surprise to learn that the British immigrants to what would become the U.S. conducted extraordinary mass murder to steal land from the aboriginal people - and slaughtering men, women and children - yes, even babies - in their centuries of wars. It happened in Canada with the French and the British, too, of course, and that was brutal enough - though the intensity of the slaughter was much greater in the U.S. As well, Canada put an end to its fighting in the nineteenth century - except for the brutality of the residential schools run by the Catholic churches. But the U.S. killing of native peoples was non-stop all the way to 1923 as, along the way, the U.S. conducted mass murder of women, children and babies. Canada was bad; but the U.S. conducted mass murder on a complete scale. Aboriginal survivors have been very few. Then they turned their attention to murdering Mexicans in what is now Texas, California and other regions. In all of these murders, the killing was of all genders and ages. It was rather like Hitler's death camps - though on a very much larger scale. That took time and money. As a mass murderer the U.S. was very much in the class of the British Empire at its worst. These years of mass murder demanded 9 years out of every ten. The U.S. also tried several invasions of Canada - though without luck. (However, it did manage to steal that strip of land down the Pacific coast called the Alaska panhandle. And this cut off Canada's only river to the Yukon.) In general, the U.S. carried out major killing for 9 years out of ten. Then it got worse. From 1900 or so, the U.S. murdered and plundered it's way over Latin America. Countries like Cuba got stuffed for American plunder. One of the early losses was Cuba's Guantanamo. The U.S stole it, and now uses it as a torture and murder base for prisoners taken as much as twenty years ago. (No. Their sin was not evil. It was having the nerve to defend their own countries when the U.S. attacked them. Afghanistan is a good example). As for the people of Latin America, they (including millions of children) have been enslaved in brutal work for almost no pay - and no education. Most recently (starting in the 195O's) the U.S.hired mercenaries (murderers) to kill uncountable numbers of priests, nuns, and missionaries, including a missionary from New Brunswick. The commander of this wretched army was the church-going father of George W. Bush who would become an ardent church goer too. As president the son would become the man who attempted the mass murder of Afghanistan. Praise the Lord. And note that none of your news media ever reported any of the above. No. The purpose of our news media is to keep us dumbed down. Oh, a missionary who was murdered in the attacks on Guatemala was, years after, buried in his home town in New Brunswick, which was also the home town of the billionaire Irvings. So it never made any news medium. However, if you ever are down there, it's just a short walk to the Irving Chapel where anybody who goes to that church is a damn hypocrite and fool. (And the minister must have no sense of any faith of any sort.) Except for a short time after Christ's crucificion, the Christian churches have blessed the warriors of their own side. So it was that Britain was blessed in 1939 - and Hitler was blessed in 1939. That still happens. And I really don't think that was what Jesus had in mind. The U.S. fought World Wars One and Two in the normal way of fighting against soldiers on the other side. But then the U.S. went back to it's old ways in 1944 when it bombed Dresden, a German city of very little military importance. And that was a bombing deliberately focussing on civilians, on children.... Ever since then, almost all American murdering has been of civilians, children even babies. It was no secret. The U.S. even bragged about it's mass murdering of civilians and children. It has also made a specialty of using "stealth bombers" to kill civilians of countries it was not at war with. In short, the U.S.military is centuries of mass murder and plunder for the benefit of the wealthy. If anything, it beats the behaviour of a Hitler. And that opens up a huge question for Canadians. Do we want to be the allies of America's Hitlers? Or worse - are we already the allies of America's Hitlers? Where does the Canadian Legion stand on this? It has supported our murderous American neighbours every step of the way. Do our Canadian armies murder civilians and children on the style of the American Hitlers? I don't know. However, I don't see how we could avoid murdering in the same style. After all, we were fighting along with the Americans in most of the wars since 1949 against countries none of whom had ever attacked Canada. (I can't even guess at the number of wars we have fought. That's because our lying news media have never told us.) And our Legion jumps at every command it gets from our American masters. Thus our 12 years with American mass killers in Afghanistan - a country that neither Canada nor the U.S. had any business in killing and plundering. And thus our news media that don't even tell we are at war with some nations. And do we kill with the same inhuman slaughter as the U.S. does? Almost certainly. Give some thought, too, to this. In 1945, Canadians fought in British wars. Then, abruptly, it turned to fighting American wars. Why? Try this. The British empire died in World War 1. So Canadian billionaires leaped into the arms of the American empire. They needed that to get into the arms of American capitalists. And the Canadian Legion joined that leap. Do we really want an army as vicious as that of the U.S.? Do we already have such an army? Are our top brass in the arms of the U.S.? Are our billionaires in the arms of American mass murderers?

Canada's very uncertain future.

This is a triple duty blog. It's to provide readers with some knowledge of where I find my sources. It's also to define the possibility we may have moved in a terrible direction since 1945. And it will probably make me some serious enemies. And it has a starting point that goes back to 1940 or 41. We lived in a district of extreme poverty and violence. Almost every day in winter, my father was up to shovel snow for the city. At the end of a work day that paid something less than four dollars a day, he would walk all the way to downtown Montreal and back to bring us a bag of charity food. (He couldn't afford the nickle trip on the tram cars.) These were the years of serious depression and hunger. Then, I think it was when I was in grade two, he came home with news. He had joined the navy. I remember how my mother took me and my sister to say goodbye to Chief Petty Officer Malcolm Decarie. He would be gone for five years. But he wrote to us often and affectionately, and often sent us wrapped gifts to be tucked away until he came home. There really was no choice. We had until then lived in the most wretched poverty. Now, oh splendour, we got a navy payment of - wow - I think it was 90 dollars a month. (I don't remember if that's accurate. It may have been less- but, oh, it was better than we ever had seen.) The only bad part was the next door neighbours on our balcony. They were small time Mafia thugs. With my father gone they made life hell for us - and once they broke in. Then - the war ended. We sent to the train station to greet my father. He came to us with the hammock (mick) that had been his bed in the navy. And, oh, he kept that for years. But he was furious when he heard about our Mafia neighbours. My father was a big man, and very strong. As soon as we got home and still in uniform, he stood at their door, arms folded. They never bothered us again. (I should add that the Mafia husband disappeared one day. Police discovered his body at the bottom of a shallow lake. He was wrapped in chains. We later learned that he had cheated on his Mafia friends.) Back from the navy, my father went to a meeting of the Legion. Big mistake. My father was a non-drinker, and he soon realized the Legion was nothing more than a booze club. He left early, and never went back to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, let's take a look at the sources I use for information. For the most part, these are not newspapers. Most - almost all - newspapers are just lying propaganda. They almost all have been liars going way back into the late eighteenth century. Of course. Almost all owners of newspapers are propagandists. And that means almost all of their reporters lie. (And if they don't lie, they get fired.) However, the first newspaper I list is a big time paper. It's a British newspaper, The Manchester Guardian. It's not as daring as it should be. But it beats almost all other commercial newspapers. Just type this one and others at the top of your screen. Rabble.ca is a superb Canadian site. It's independent, just type Rabble.ca. Their leading figure was a parliamentary reporter in his employed days. When he retired he put together a first rate group of truth telling authorities. CBC on the web is pretty good. Gwynne Dyer is a brilliant analyst of world affairs. I knew him slightly when we shared space at CBC long ago. He's now an outstanding analyst based in England. The Nation is an American web magazine - and perhaps a little too much American. Consortium is worth a long read. CP Home is good. Breaking News is good Oh, and a superb site is Information Clearing house. It, like the sites above, would dearly love you to make contributions of a 10 or 20 dollars to them. But that's entirely up to you. I know that Information Clearing House site is a large and expensive operation. But that's up to you. Information Clearing House is run by a superb journalist who was, until recently, out of business because of the cost to him of preparing his site. I'm always amazed at the scale and depth of his reporting. The reality is our news media - radio, TV, print - are liars. I'm about to raise an issue on this which, since it criticizes our military, raises very serious questions about the U.S. military and how the Canadian military is marching into the U.S. model. That is going to make me some enemies.

Is the Canadian Legion simply Canada's sell out to the U.S.?

The U.S. is quite possibly the worst murderer in history. That goes all the way back hundreds of years to the time when the first British settlers arrived to murder the native peoples. That was an extended slaughter that went on all the way to 1923. The British and French in Canada were bad enough but they came nowhere close to the killing of men, women and children and, yes, even babies, by the U.S. In the process of doing that they carried out the mass murder of Mexicans so the U.S. could steal Texas, California and other states. And, of course, they made several tries at Canada - and we can expect to see more of that as we see much of the U.S. becoming uninhabitable. Roughly speaking, Americans have murdered and stolen the property of nine out of every ten years. Then it moved in on Latin America. That began about 1900. It reached a spectacular level beginning in the 1950s when the U.S. hired mercenaries (thugs and murderers) to murder Guatemala's priests, nuns and missionaries. (No, our news media never bothered to report this.) One of the victims was a New Brunswicker who, many years after his murder, was returned for burial in his home town (not far from the Irving Chapel which was owned by billionaires who also owned the local newpapers.) But, course, no Canadian news medium ever mentioned this. And the Irving leeches couldn't care less about it. In World War Two, the U.S. deliberately chose the German city of Dresden. Dresden was not a military target of any sort. It was a city of husbands and wives and children. And that's why the U.S. bombed it - to murder husbands and wives and children. And this became the pattern for all American warfare to this day. U.S. wars have been constant since 1940, aiming heavy bombing at chidren and bragging about it in the news. Nobody knows how many innocent civilians and children have died since. U.S. troops also had a deliberate role in the mass murder of very young children in much of Africa. Oh, and then, there are the remote bombers controlled by pilots in Washington gymnasia These have been used for some years to bomb civilians in countries that are not at all at war with the U.S. or anybody else. Typical targets are aimed at gatherings of families and children. And, since 1949 Canada stopped fighting British wars -and fought----American ones. Why? I've never seen an answer to that. But fighting for the U.S. is now Canada's major type of war. One of them is the despatch of a Canadian warship to waters on the China coast. What the hell is Canada doing patrolling Chinese waters? That's a move that puts Canada in line for one hell of a nuclear war. Canada, some years ago, also kissed American asses by killing Haitians and destroying the development of a Haitian democracy. We are now on the edge of the most destructive war in history,and I wonder---- ----Our news media tell us little (nothing) about our troops organized for war in western Europe, in China waters, in Syria.... and, more broadly speaking, are we the servants of American billionaires? And do we fight wars in our way? Or in the way our American masters tell us to. I very much fear that our military simply imitates the American style. We fight in the American style that peddles propaganda, that takes pride in murdering civilians and even children. If so, is our Canadian Legion simply fighting American wars and setting us up, all of us, for the terrible American ending? And has it committed itself to American butchery and destruction on our side? Is the Canadian Legion simply a patsy for making all of us American murderers? over the world we can see the destruction of countries by the U.S. And that makes me wonder.

get lost - somebody.

I think it was just days ago that I submitted a blog which included the behaviour of Chiang Kai Shek in his occupation of Taiwan. that drew a reader of the type who tells me I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm stupid. But he's smart.. He included a long analysis of his very intelligent thinking to prove I was a person of low intelligence while he was a genius. One always gets a character or two like that. This one illustrates his point with the brilliance he shows in his analysis of it all. So, in this case he informed me (while breathing contempt for my inferiority to him.) Alas! His analysis disappeared yesterday. I have no idea how or why. But here's as much as I can remember. (I enjoy arrogant fools.) He pointed out that Taiwan had a long history of independence by the time Chiang Kai Shek landed in it. Well, yes. But it also had long periods of ownership by China before that. He says that Chiang's army got along well with Taiwan. - and that Chiang tolerated the population and the wishes of the people of Taiwan. (More on this later.) What really annoyed him was my analysis of this mutual friendship which continued even as the Taiwanese rose into the majority. Eventually, so we are told, the Taiwanese became the majority and they controlled the future of the island again. And that is all brainless. Think hard. A Chinese army on the run lands in Taiwan. So what's that army of males going to do? These are men who have been caught up in a losing war. This is an army with damn few women. What will they do? Well, a great many of them will rape Taiwanese women. Some, perhaps less violent, will force marriage on them. After a very short time, a whole new generation will arise. Are the people of Taiwan Chinese? Of course they are. They were Chinese (all sides). They always had been. The smug author of this pedals the notion that they were now becoming simply Taiwanese again and becoming democratic. nonsense. There were no people who were just Chinese. The author then refers to a "new" generation who are pure Taiwanese. Nonsense.After all those years of mixed marriage, of rape, they're all a mixture. And they're all Chinese. From the beginning, there never was a 'new' generation. The store owners on the street could be descended of rape, of murder, - they could have any kind of blood. They were all different. There was no such thing after all these years as a person who was, for example, a pure blooded anything. The person who wrote all this drivel to me should think harder before inventing these myths. Oh, and the people of Taiwan are not necessarily pioneers of the future. They are all just pretty much like all the rest of us. And maybe even more boring than we are. Whoeer

The Horror of the U.S.

Warning - I don't know how long it will take to write this. I've been getting medication that puts me heavily to sleep for almost all day. I was astonished to read a report about Canadian warships in waters between China and Taiwan. As the U.S. prepares for war with China, this would place Canada in that war. Not a good idea. Let's not kid ourselves about Taiwan. Under the leadership of Chiang Kai Shek and his thugs, Taiwan was the centre of the biggest opium trade in the world. The people of Taiwan today are, for the most part, the descendents of Chiang's murderers and opium dealers. (They are not, by any definition, Taiwanese patriots.) And Canada has placed itself in a position to have to join in on the side of Chiang's thugs and against the rather considerable forces of China. Oh, yeah, the Canadian Legion will no doubt bless the thugs and send Canadians to die. The Canadian news media, of course, will never tell us the truth about Taiwan. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On your TV set it might be possible to pick out a horrifying story. Go to (forgive me. I'm old and fuzzy so I don't remember what the section is called. Oh, yeah. You Tube.) It's about San Francisco. It has over 80,000 people living on the streets, sleeping on bare concrete, sometimes on heaps of garbage which they search for food. (Any deliveries of free food are rare - and often unpleasant. This applies for the elderly all the way down to babies. I have never before seen such suffering. It's far worse than anything I saw in Hong Kong or China. I saw people sleeping in garbage cans. The dead? They're just dumped. Nobody cares. Almost all are mentally unbalanced. Of course. All try to steal food from the stores. Almost all are sent to prison for long sentences. But the prisons don't want them, either. So within days of sentencing they are kicked out. It's common to see people who have been kicked out and sentenced again 40 times and more. All of them, of course, are hopelessly insane as a result of their experience. And the children of the insane stay in the streets and the filth - and the death. I saw the same for Seattle. It's moving across the U.S. And by every sign the billionaires are not lifting a finger. Meanwhile, the pharma giants are making monster profits from their covid 19 sales - far, far more than their drugs cost to produce. And they don't give a damn about the horror they are creating. After all, this is the U.S. - the happy land of the super wealthy and greedy. Pope Francis has asked the pharma giants to release their covid19 patents. They won't. And millions will die. But don't worry. Your news media won't tell you what's happening. As well, our news media won't tell us that we are killing whole nations with the greed of our capitalists. Millions are dying. But notice there are no stacks of the wealthy dead. We have gone back thousands of years to the emperors and the starving street mobs of Rome. We are soon to murder billions of Chinese in order to please the politicians and the Liberals, Conservatives, Democrats and GOP. And, as we can see, our capitalists are planning to kill all of us. Indeed, we are within range of killing all human life. But to make you feel better about that,China is the world's biggest emitter of coal - a horribly destructive product. So maybe it will destroy us first. Oh, while you're dying, take the time to look at Gwynne Dyer. when his site appears, click on the word articles. I knew Gwynne Dyer long ago when the world and he and I were young. We shared space on a CBC radio show. He was a Canadian and a graduate of Military college. And I thought he was brilliant. A Humble Reply

I don't at all disagree with yesterday's response to my statement that China's proclaimed creation of a nation of general ambition for equality. (and forgive me, I have a computer that drives me around the bend. It must be the one the CIA gave me.) I said in my blog that the Chinese government has announced a wish to bring about national equality in China. And, by closing down on the billionaires of China, the government has demonstrated a wish to do that. But will it be capable of completing such a change? I doubt it. In all I know from history, there is no record of any society which permitted equality. It seems to be a curse of humanity. I don't know of any country in the world - in all those years - of any country in which the rulers have permitted any of their people to have equality. Almost all other animals do permit it. But not us. And there is certainly no sign of it in our western world. Check out the billionaires of our world. They don't give a damn about anyone else. I just called attention to it because it was so unusual. I don't doubt there are many ways to move people into line. The Chinese are trying to do something that can really only be modified, not changed on a huge scale. But ------- ----but throughout history, our world has rarely tried to be anything but plundering - which is what the U.S. is now doing all over the world, and has been doing as long as their has been a U.S. And it's what our capitalists, with the help of the Liberals and Conservatives, do to us. Think of the many, many families of the U.S. and Canada who live on the streets and who now face a winter with, if they're lucky, a tent. Think of the billionaires who spit on them. China houses it's people, all of them. Yes, it took a long time for China to do it. But it housed them. We don't house ours.

A VERY UNHAPPY BLOG

I'm really astonished by the Canadian (and American) contempt for the Chinese - and for the popular belief that the Chinese live in poverty and filth - and with no housing. In reality, it's the U.S. and Canada who have thrown huge numbers of people into the streets. It's us here in North America who have created slums. And that's not the first time this has happened. My father was a scout master for a troop in Montreal's Chinatown. Now, we lived in a VERY poor district of Montreal. But even for us, Chinatown was one hell of a shabby place. I liked the boys and was happy to help out with them. But, oh, I was also struck by the poverty and shabbiness. At Boy Scout Summer camp, the other boys (being genuine, white Canadians) went out of their way to shower contempt on the Chinese boys. And, oh, the history of that goes further. For a hundred years, the British plundered and murdered Chinese. And, of course, it was all the fault of the Chinese. When I was in Hong Kong, that sort of belief was common.I shall never forget the night I saw the horror of thousands of Chinese, whole families crammed onto the streets for miles to sleep on cardboard sheets. But I never saw any English treated like that. However, I did see the English, lots of them, treating the Chinese with utter contempt. (The worst was the Governor's right hand man who was, to my dismay, married to my cousin.) Today, the Chinese have done a magnificent job of recovering from the cruel and arrogant rule of the British. So, of course, we hate them. Our press forever criticizes them. Amazing how our press never notices the mass murder by our side. Can you spell U.S.? Britain? Canadian Legion? Let's get real. Why did Canada spend over ten years killing people in Afghanistan? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Winter is closing in. But, so far as we know, the U.S. and Canada will not lift a finger to help their homeless. And that includes the elderly. children and babies. What king of miserable bastards have we allowed ourselves to become? On the other hand, American billionaires - and perhaps Canadian ones - are developing warrior robots to protect them from ---us. Oh, yes, the U.S. also wants Australian journalist Julian Assange murdered by the CIA. He was a superb journalist and an honest one. That's why he has spent years in solitary (currently in a British) prison without charge or trial. The U.S. wants him - for the same reason. Again, there won't be a trial. Instead, it will be immediate solitary with no trial. Or, for greater efficiency, the CIA will murder him. God bless America, land of the - whatever. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Canada are begun a real horror show. Our farms are going under. We may (will) face shortages created by us as the price of our carbondioxide, thanks to our worship of cars and trucks and factories. I'm so happy that the Irvings keep the people of New Brunswick happy with showers of gas and oil. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Also noticeable is the wimpiness of the American armed forces since 1949. They, by far, have been the most expensive and most expensively armed forces in the world. And they have been amongst the most feeble. Afghanistan, a relatively poor country (and the American target of only a small part of it.) And Afghanistan beat the pants off it. It was the same in Korea. Since 1940, it has has lost a string of military targets, often losing to small (sometimes very small and very poor countries). Now, the U.S. has been a world leader in killing. It began with the landing of the Pilgrim Fathers. (Then, George Washington was obsessed with killing.) From that day and up to as late as 1930, the U.S. was killing it's native peoples. It tried several times to conquer Canada. It murdered Mexicans to steal what became Texas, California and other states. There is probably no country in the world that matches the U.S. for it's history of wars and conquests. Starting in 1900, it slaughtered the largely helpless people of Latin America and has been robbing them ever since. The prison (torture base) of Latin America is today Guantanamo that it stole from Cuba. There is probably no country in the world that can match the many hundreds of years of American murder. But the world is at last catching on. In 1945, the U.S. clearly planned to conquer the world so the whole whole world could be slaves of American billionaires. And it's not even close. Instead, the rising power is China with it's population of 2+ billion. The U.S. cannot defeat China in the usual sort of war. No. It can win only by killing huge numbers, perhaps a billion, of men, women and children with nuclear bombs. God bless America. (Oh, the U.S. will call on neighbour Canada to join that war. There is a country which are news media tell us almost nothing about. It's a country that is lowering the rights of it's billionaires. It's a country the billionaires had almost taken over. The country doing this is a country determined in establishing a society of equality. (No, alas! It's not Canada.) It's China. So far as I know this is a country which aiming equality instead of the rich and greedy. (I don't know of any western country that has done that. In the U.S. - as in Canada where I grew up - the rich have always, for example, celebrated private tutors for rich kids. And for poor kids like me? We were taught to be scum. It took me years to learn I could go to university. That raised me a notch or so. But I was still low on the ladder. It took me eight more years to realize I could do a PhD. China is unique in the world in trying to give all its people a land of equality. We talk about it. But we've never done it. Our news media teach us to hate China. In fact, I hate our news media for their lies and propaganda. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ And, oh, can't we and the U.S. give a damn about the homeless of our countries? We give trillions every year to the billionaires and trillionaires. Salaries for the rest of us are decades out of date. We throw billions at the drug companies whose owners hugely over charge us for them. That's why there's no money to save so many nations - as in Africa. They're dying now. And they're going to die a hell of a lot more , many millions of them. A reader has annoyed me.

In my last post, a reader was deeply offended when I said nice things about China. Naughty me. It's possible I overstated the Chinese car market. I'm not sure. But China remains the world leader in sales of electricity powered cars - and the Chinese are going all the way on this. Their cars are also very cheap, mostly in the $4,000 range.(Most Chinese driving is on crowded streets. So I would guess these cars are not speedy. But what the hell, I could use a 4,000 dollar car.) The reader was also contemptious about Chinese housing. So let's look at that. Remember that China was for a hundred years under British control. The British had nothing but contempt for the Chinese. It was the British who created a China of the homeless. I remember well seeing the horror of that in Hong Kong - miles and miles of Chinese in rags and sleeping on scraps of cardboard for miles, each of them jammed into place. That was not, I'm sure, what the Hong Kongers wanted. That's what the British forced on them. In fact, all the misery that we blamed the Chinese for was thrust on them by the British. The damage to China - that we blame on the Chinese - was and is almost always the result of the savagery and greed of the British and then the Americans. Certainly millions of Chinese suffered and it took them a long time to recover. I was last in China about 1985, and it's housing was still a disaster. But at last, the Chinese government took on the problem of housing. And it did what our governments had not done in all the years of our savagery. It built, in fact, it overbuilt high rise apartments to house (and more) all of China's population. And those who had no money were accepted at no charge. O-0-0- And what do our Canadians and Americans do? Hell, we toss them, men, women, children, babies onto the streets. So yes, I applaud China for it's action. And I have nothing but contempt for our leadership by billionaires who pile away with the trillionaires to enrich themselves. And, okay, I have contempt for our Liberals, Conservatives, Democrats and G0Ps. But don't worry. I'm sure our brave soldiers, acting in the the grand tradition of North American conquest will smother China with nuclear bombs. You know, God bless America.
