Shining Evil

It's nice to see evidence of our rulers taking time to invest for their declining years. The prime minister of Czechosolvakia, for example, used offshore companies to (secretly)buy a 13 million dollar French mansion. That saved him millions of dollars of taxation. The president of Ukraine used an offshore connection to do his dirty work in secretly getting and keeping secret properties for his own benefit. In Russia, Putin's inner circle has loaded up on secret purchases of property without being required to pay taxes on it - a practice that spared them many millions of dollars.The king of Jordan has hidden property (tax free). Tony Blair, prime minister of Britain, with the cooperation of his wife, bought property offshore and, secretly, saved 300,000 in taxes. Among the (illegal) buyers of such properties are 100 billionaires, 30 world leaders, and 300 officials. In the U.S. itself, the state of South Dakota is a leading tax haven. Around the world, the rich can actually use their governments to avoid paying taxes. But don't expect to hear that from your friendly local wealthy bastards. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In another story unlikely to appear in your friendly local newspaper ---- We learn that the CIA has long been running loose in Afghanistan. Now, the CIA usually has 2 functions - it murders people, but first, it tortures them. (The CIA and Hitler would have been great friends.) However, in Tabul, the CIA was caught in the great surrender of just over a month ago. So the CIA had to burn it's huge fleet of cars used to murder and to catch people for torture. The Taliban has found this scrap remainder, and has offered the western press to take pictures of the ranks of burnt cars and to show this in the world press. But don't waste your time waiting for our press to tell the tuth. The Taliban is cruel? Yes. But it isn't nearly so cruel as a murderous and torturing CIA. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It was hardly a year ago that our boy Trudeau met American politicians at the American border to encourage them to continue transporting oil over the soil. He assured them it was perfectly safe and that he was doing it through BC. (rather an odd thing to say in a BC that was suffering damage and health from oil fires.) Well, I'm sure the Americans would have done it anway. And now they have really done it. A huge pipeline right on the California coast is now sending thousands of gallons of oil into the sea - and drifting it out on huge quantities. By coincidence, it has poisoned miles of water and killed an unknown number of sea creatures. And it will not be possible for humans along miles of that coast to go into that water for many months at least - and probably much longer. Thank you for your advice Mr. Trudeau. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Though most of us probably don't even think about it, both Canada and the U.S. have a dreadful record of abuse of our native peoples. That goes way back to the earliest days of contact between out ancestors and our native peoples. For centuries we have been cruel and abusive of them. George Washington was a cruel and arrogant man who, like most presidents, treated aboriginals like dirt.He, like most presidents, treated them like dirt. In fact, the latest American killing spree against aboriginals in the U.S. didn't happen until the 1920s. Canada, of course had it's mass murders of native peoples. And example of that (which has been going on for over a hundred years) was the mass murder of native children, some as young as 3, who were taken from their homes and put into locked-in schools where over a thousand died (killed by white priests and nuns) - and were buried in unmarked pits. And it went beyond that. Aboriginal peoples, men, women, children were shoved aside when it came to health care, jobs, security of any sort. But all this is due, I hope, to change. A senior judge has ruled that these people must be given the financial powers to break through our terrible treatment of them. The Canadian government has rejected the view of Canada's leading judges. But the judges are determined to press their case and, indeed, all the law is on the side of the judges. There proposal (49 forty thousand per person) may sound high. But it would simply raise native peoples to the level of others. Alas! Premier Trudeau happily gives billions to billionaires. But to nobody else. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Oh, the Catholic church is looking for credit for it's treatment of aboriginals in their schools. It claims credit for money spent in teaching aboriginal children. Well, yeah....sort of. That money, in fact,was spent to evangelize the children, to convert them to Christianity. Wow! Watch out for nuns at your door. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ You probably have not read the story of Julian Assange in your newspapers. As a young man in Australia he was a brilliant journalist, and the founder of Wikkileaks. He was a highly devout journalist. And that's why many (many, many) commercial journalists hated him as he covered stories in Europe. The many included papers like the New York Times and The Manchester Guardian.These people forced him into isolation and then into jail (though none had any legal charges against him. He's now been many years in solitary with no conviction and no trial.) Now, the U.S. wants him to spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement. There isn't going to be any trial in the U.S. After all, there are no charges. This is a man who has been treated illegally. And you can bet he will die in solitary confinement. Check your local paper. You won't find a word about Julian Assange. The newspapers of Canada and the U.S. are, as usual, liars. Well, there's at least a lesson. Don't believe your journalists. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Meanwhile, Cuba is suffering terribly from climate change. It is also suffering lack of food. I read an article saying that Canada should help Cuba. Oh? Bloody unlikely. The U.S.wouldn't lift a finger to help Cuba (just it won't help Haiti.) Cuba and Haiti are examples of U.S. brutality - and Canadians who want to help these countries will get spanked. It's so obvious that the Canadian Legion which happily sent Canadians to serve in places like Korea and Afghanistan (Which were nons of our business) = wouldn't dream of helping Cuba or Haiti. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On a sad note, I see that an excellent news agency, Information Clearing House, has been frozen into a blog that hasn't changed for a couple of weeks.
