Meanwhile, most of the press seem to be floundering in a world that has profoundly and dangerously changed. Most of them, so far as I can tell, just don't tell the truth. Others just - flounder.
American democracy, if it ever existed, has long since vanished. But most of the press prefer not to notice that. Britain has collapsed into a long, dark tunnel. And it ain't coming back.
Canada is busy shovelling billions into the pockets of billionaires, even the ones who are killing us with their pollution. Prime Minister Trudeau prefers not to talk about his kissing up to the most vicious (not just Trump) American political leaders.
It is quite possible, even probable, that either Trump or Biden will decide on war against China - and will expect Canada to take part.
We live in a world that abandoned all we said we were fighting for until 1945. Instead, we have had endless wars to please the super-rich. A whole continent (Latin America) has become a place of destruction of democracy, of mass murder, of starvation of civilians and children - all to please American (and Canadian) billionaires.
We have created a scale of horror and greed that exceeds anything the world has known before.
Not surprisingly, our billionaires own most of the major news media. So we don't hear much of this.
What are we planning for the future? Nothing. We have allowed the super wealthy to create a world with no future. We are ruled by a capitalism that is interested in nothing but it's own greed. And we are informed by news media that really have nothing to say.
