July 30: Oh, if only we had done what we said we would do in 1945.....

...but we were sold out by politicians - Liberal, Conservative, Democrat , Republican - who were, themselves, sold out to the super rich.

My computer is acting very odd today. The blog that I sent two days ago never made it until today.  (It appears below this one.) Apparently, our computer providers are making major changes in our blogs. It took me two hours today just to get started. So this may be a shorter blog than usual.

Nah. This has nothing to do with climate change.Ask anybody in the oil industry. They'll tell you.

Whoa! What right does Trump have to tell other countries who they're allowed to deal with? And
what kinds of wimps are Canadians to do whatever the U.S. tells us to do?

I have every respect for the people of Hong Kong - so much so that I considered living there when I retired. But let's get real. We cannot help Hong Kong by swearing at China. And a war with China would alsmost certainly lead to the complete destruction of Hong Kong. Their is no solution to this in threats and wars.

China has suffered dreadfully from almost two centuries of murder and plunder by Britain (with American and German help) while the French capitalists inflicted their horrors on French Indo-China (Vietnam). The only solution to this is a peaceful one. Peace is what we should have tried in 1945. But we didn't try it because the West supported Chiang Kai Sheck for his massive support of the drug trade  - a support that made huge profits for western capitalists who supplied the drugs.

China does not trust the west. It has every reason not to trust a west dominated by a super-rich who have, for centuries murdered, humiliated, plaundered and generally abused it. It's time to put a lid on our super rich,  and open the way to a peaceful solution that would benefit both China and the rest of us.

The alternative? The destruction of Hong Kong and, quite possibly, of most of the rest of us.

Yes, this is terrible. Odd, though, that we don't get news about American prisons all over the world - like Guantanmo - where prisoners are torturred to death.

Much of the world is plagued with so much control of its natives by the super wealthy. They - and not the people we voted for - are the ones that run our nations and our lives. And they are the ones who do it entirely to further their riches. Human greed by a small number is what causes our wars. And human greed is what will end us.

In the minds and the greed of capitalists all public services whould be operated by capitalists for their profit. So it is that most Americans cannot afford medical care. The next target, probably, is the postal system.

Forget Russia and China, the real evemy for most of the west is capitalism. It's capitalism that has murdered all the Latin Americans that our (capitalist) news media don't tell us about. And they've been doing it for well over a century.

Both world wars - and most of the western countries involved - were fought for the benefit of major
capitalists.

By the way, ever notice that the Nurenburg trials of Nazi war criminals did not include all those German capitalsts who used Jews as free labour until it was time to kill them? Nor did they try the many American capitalists (like Henry Ford who enthusiastically supported the holocaust of Jews,. and like the American Rockefeller (who supplied almost all the gas and oil used by Hitler.)

Much of the west's capitalist support for Hitler existed even before the war - and AFTER Hitler had begun his holocaust of Jews. We knew about all of this before the war started. And we didn't care.

Americans and Canadians should pay close attention to this message from Australia.

This is really an appeal for funding. But it tells us about something we should watch for.

The American Empire is ending. The U.S. itself is quite likely ending. The peace we should have designed in 1945 never happened. Can we still find it?

American capitalism, like most other capitalisms, doesn't want a world peace. Capitalism bloats itself on wars. British capitalism led the way, killing over 400 million people in wars that had nothing to do with protecting the British people. Indeed, the ordinary British people were as abused and plundered as were all the other victims of the British Empire.

American leaders, from the start, were as bloody-minded as the British. Indeed, the U.S. was the natural child of British capitalism even after capitalism formally began.Today, it's capitalism has thrown the American people - and everybody else - into the final conflict. The good news is that capitalism is collapsing. The bad news is that we have not prepared ourselves tor a better world, and so we face only a chaotic one.
