July 8: A very bad several days.

This has been a trying time. I have a new computer. Thus my missing of blogs as I try to figure out how to go through the process all over again of how to set up a blog. And it's not going well. This will also be brief because It's late in the day. I don't know how long it takes to learn how to operate a new computer which is very different from my last one. But so far, it's tougher than I thought. As well, I write this as the U.S. is nearing collapse. The divisions in that land are very deep. The military weapons crowd is prominent, fully armed and politically very far to the right. This is - maybe - one step short of a civil war. Or it might even be beyond that as their numbers are very great, and as the police, who happily killed Blacks, show no great interest in facing down the military weapons freaks. As well, the Trump vote is not going to disappear soon. It is quite possible that the U.S. may be caught up in severe violence even before the election. Other possibilities? Trump might refuse to lose the election, a move which will be made easier by the stunning corruption that will surface in this election. To that corruption, add the probability of a massive drive by the super rich to make sure that they continue to control the country. The collapse of the American dream of ruling the world is now a sure thing. In the chaos, a nuclear war is quite possible. We are, almost certainly, watching the collapse of a nation but, oh, it can do enormous damage on the way out. And that could well affect Canada as part of a divided U.S. might well attempt at least partial annexation of Canada. Chiang Kai-Shek, the wildly corrupt man the U.S. liked (because of his corruption). He was beaten by Mao who began the work of rebuilding China after some 140 years of horribly brutal, murderous and corrupt rule. by the British. Mao was a communist. So what? His rule was the one that save China and set it on the path to achieve the success as China has had up to the present day. This is when we should have moved to welcome China and to help it. Instead, the U.S. has spent over seventy years driving China deeper into communism. (Communism is not evil. Not unless you think that rebuilding an almost destroyed society, and building schools and housing and medical care was evil. This was the time to help save China.But American capitalists-Christian, I'm sure, were determined to drive the Chinese down into filth and hunger and poverty as the British had.
