Fracking for oil has long been known for its poisonous effects on humans and animals. But B.C. has long been paying oil companies to drill for it and sell it for their own profit. And so far it has paid these wealthy companies at least 2 billion dollars.
Does this oil industry in B.C. create jobs? Obviously not.

Christianity died starting - almost - from it's birth. Christians have always been the biggest killers and thieves in the western world - starting from the Roman Empire.
Hitler publicly declared himself a devout Christian. So did Churchill who, in his long career, murdered millions - in a 'Christian' empire that murdered hundreds of millions and plundered much of the world. President George Bush Sr. murdered 200,000 innocent people in Guatemala, including very large numbers of priests and nuns. And he was a very welcome member of Christian churches.
So was his murderous son. And still is.
Jesus, we are told, died for our sins. But Christians, almost from the start, have celebrated our sins. Jesus, I am sure, would have spoken against this. But His churches almost never do. Nor, I must add, does Israel - though Jews still living in the western world are much more serious about their faith.
So much for 'thou shalt not kill'.
Another commandment orders us not to covet. But, gee! Billionaires have to covet. That's the whole foundation of capitalism.

Hitler's mass murder of Jews was, indeed, one of the most dreadful events in history. But Hitler was helped by Britain, the U.S. and Canada who knew about the death camps well BEFORE the war started - and who refused to help the Jews by allowing them to come to their countries.
Even at the end of the war, we would accept them. The whole purpose of creating Israel, even as we ALL by then knew what Hitler had done, was to move them to any place but our profoundly anti-Jewish countries. Thus the creation of Israel. It was not to help them, but to get rid of them.
If Israel really wants to punish somebody, it should be us. But we have, instead, punished the Palestinians who had nothing to do with our Hitler's (and our) treatment of Jews.

As if this weren't enough of me to have to read, you'll find the rest much worse.
In war, news media see their own countries as the good guys, and the enemy as evil, bad guys. But that is almost always misleading. So let's trace our history of good guys and bad guys since 1900.
In 1900, the British invaded South Africa. It's population was then largely of native Blacks and of Dutch settlers who plundered and abused them. But that's not why Britain invaded. No. South Africa has massive gold mines. And wealthy British wanted to plunder them - not for the British people, of course, but just for the super rich ones.
First, they put pressure on Canada, Australia, India and other parts of the empire to join them. Why? Surely not because the British needed the help against so many helpless people. And, in fact, it was an old practice that the British never before had ordered it's colonies to help fight it's wars. In fact, it usually didn't want them to. But this was different.
The difference was that the Europe of 1900 was obviously moving toward a massive war, one that demanded more than Britain could do. So the Boer War was used to set a precedent for all the colonies to join in wars of value only to the wealthiest of the British.
The pressure on Canada was tremendous with almost all Canadian news media joined in for sending Canadians to South Africa. Oh, the newspapers were all owned by Canadian businessmen who depended heavily on the British market.
And, of course, they never said it was to kill and steal. No, no. Canadians were to 'serve the king, God bless him'.
So it was that 280 Canadians died so that very wealthy British could plunder the gold mines. (In a footnote, we should also add that 28,000 men, women and children died of disease in prison camps, many of them run by Canadians. I heard a good deal about this when I was teaching in The Netherlands - the Boers were Dutch.)
In 1914, Britain could call on the precedent of the Boer War and urged Canada to 'serve the king, God bless him. Newspaper took up that theme, and Canadians rushed to join. And, of course, Germany and Austria were evil in our papers.
But reality was more complicated.
Almost ALL of Europe was preparing for this war, and it had nothing to do with 'good'.
What led to this was the rapid industrialism of Europe, and the fear of each country's capitalists that one of the other capitalists would attack them. So it was that almost every country plunged into war production. Railways had by them become essential for winning wars. So every country that could built them, with combat troops based near them for instant use. Any hint of a war would meet immediate railway based attacks. Nobody could dare pausing for a moment should it seem that anybody might send out their troops in a mindless panic.
That's why the start of the war was foolish and exaggerated by all the powers. And that is why the balloon went up with the assassination of an archduke of no great importance to the world. But one whose death would turn loose a terrible world war.
It ended with the surrender of Germany and it's allies. Now, this was a war that all of use were responsible for. Germany and it's allies were no more to blame than all the rest of us.
But the capitalists, especially of Britain and France, saw the surrender as a chance to economically destroy Germany forever. They destroyed it with massive financial penalties that had to be paid to Britain and Germany for uncountable years to come. They were so massive that German money became worthless, so worthless that children were allowed to play with it in piles over their own heads.
And that British and French greed of their super-rich, not Germany, was the evil that caused World War 2.
Germany was in chaos and horror. And a young man saw this as his way to power.
Adolf Hitler, a soldier of no distinction, essentially a message runner and a civilian with very little status indeed, saw his chance. In jail as he watched Germany's suffering, he saw his path to power, summing it up in Mien Kampf.
British and French greed and German anger had opened the door to him.
As he left the prison, he determined to go through that door. He also realized he needed something else - villains in Germany. He found his model for that in the U.S. slaughter of its native peoples from millions down to some 70,000 or so. And his choice in building on that example was Jews.
Did Hitler hate Jews? Probably not. Once in power, he arranged for his mother's doctor and his family to flee to Latin America. No. Hitler neither hated nor loved. He only used and abused.
And far from alienating the wealthy of Britain, Canada, and the U.S. they admired him up to the start of the war - and even after. Yes, despite the name of his party, National Socialist, there was not a socialist bone in his body. He was admired by capitalists all over the world. Perhaps the loudest and most ardent of the capitalists was Henry Ford. Hitler might well have become the hero of all capitalists if he had simply invaded Russia. But no, he had greater ambitions.
So Hitler started a world war in 1939.
Interestingly, the U.S. took a long time to join. Of course. Many, many of the wealthiest Americans thought Hitler was a great guy, and a barrier to socialism. They even continued to trade with Germany after 1939 and after the defeat of France and the great danger into which Britain had fallen. So why did it join the 'allies' at the end of 1943?
It had nothing to do with coming to Britain's rescue. It had nothing to do with saving the Jews. (In fact, the allies had no interest in helping the Jews before, during or after the war.)
No. The U.S.entered the war because Japan had kicked the British out of China.
Britain had for many years impoverished the people of countries like China and India. It had murdered them, starved them, abused them, impoverished them by the hundreds of millions at least. It was all very profitable and, oh, the U.S. wanted to grab it before the Japanese or the even the British could come back. But most Americans did not favour such a war. So Roosevelt had to make it seem Japan started it.
It was easy. He could off the supply of oil that was essential for Japan's wars. That would force Japan to start the war. And then the American people would join.
Alas! Japan's response was unexpectedly strong with the bombing of Pearl Harbour. But Roosevelt did get his war. Alas! He never got China. Nor did Britain - though it did recapture Hong Kong at the end.
Wealthy Americans also wanted another piece of the British Empire, the oil fields of the middle east. During the war, they replaced the British as the closest friends of the rulers of Saudi Arabia, a closeness that now has created chaos in much of the middle east. And after the war, it got control of British oil fields all over the region. That's what the Iraq war was all about. And Syria. And the oil baron Americans now want Iran.
The British had viciously plundered Iranian oil from 1918 to 1948 until Iranians formed a democracy and kicked the British out. With U.S. help, the British destroyed Iranian democracy and installed a dictator. After a time, Iranians fought back, establishing control over their own country. Now Trump wants to make American oil billionaires happy by bombing it.
In 1945, the Second World War ended.
But greed didn't.

As if this weren't enough of me to have to read, you'll find the rest much worse.
In war, news media see their own countries as the good guys, and the enemy as evil, bad guys. But that is almost always misleading. So let's trace our history of good guys and bad guys since 1900.
In 1900, the British invaded South Africa. It's population was then largely of native Blacks and of Dutch settlers who plundered and abused them. But that's not why Britain invaded. No. South Africa has massive gold mines. And wealthy British wanted to plunder them - not for the British people, of course, but just for the super rich ones.
First, they put pressure on Canada, Australia, India and other parts of the empire to join them. Why? Surely not because the British needed the help against so many helpless people. And, in fact, it was an old practice that the British never before had ordered it's colonies to help fight it's wars. In fact, it usually didn't want them to. But this was different.
The difference was that the Europe of 1900 was obviously moving toward a massive war, one that demanded more than Britain could do. So the Boer War was used to set a precedent for all the colonies to join in wars of value only to the wealthiest of the British.
The pressure on Canada was tremendous with almost all Canadian news media joined in for sending Canadians to South Africa. Oh, the newspapers were all owned by Canadian businessmen who depended heavily on the British market.
And, of course, they never said it was to kill and steal. No, no. Canadians were to 'serve the king, God bless him'.
So it was that 280 Canadians died so that very wealthy British could plunder the gold mines. (In a footnote, we should also add that 28,000 men, women and children died of disease in prison camps, many of them run by Canadians. I heard a good deal about this when I was teaching in The Netherlands - the Boers were Dutch.)
In 1914, Britain could call on the precedent of the Boer War and urged Canada to 'serve the king, God bless him. Newspaper took up that theme, and Canadians rushed to join. And, of course, Germany and Austria were evil in our papers.
But reality was more complicated.
Almost ALL of Europe was preparing for this war, and it had nothing to do with 'good'.
What led to this was the rapid industrialism of Europe, and the fear of each country's capitalists that one of the other capitalists would attack them. So it was that almost every country plunged into war production. Railways had by them become essential for winning wars. So every country that could built them, with combat troops based near them for instant use. Any hint of a war would meet immediate railway based attacks. Nobody could dare pausing for a moment should it seem that anybody might send out their troops in a mindless panic.
That's why the start of the war was foolish and exaggerated by all the powers. And that is why the balloon went up with the assassination of an archduke of no great importance to the world. But one whose death would turn loose a terrible world war.
It ended with the surrender of Germany and it's allies. Now, this was a war that all of use were responsible for. Germany and it's allies were no more to blame than all the rest of us.
But the capitalists, especially of Britain and France, saw the surrender as a chance to economically destroy Germany forever. They destroyed it with massive financial penalties that had to be paid to Britain and Germany for uncountable years to come. They were so massive that German money became worthless, so worthless that children were allowed to play with it in piles over their own heads.
And that British and French greed of their super-rich, not Germany, was the evil that caused World War 2.
Germany was in chaos and horror. And a young man saw this as his way to power.
Adolf Hitler, a soldier of no distinction, essentially a message runner and a civilian with very little status indeed, saw his chance. In jail as he watched Germany's suffering, he saw his path to power, summing it up in Mien Kampf.
British and French greed and German anger had opened the door to him.
As he left the prison, he determined to go through that door. He also realized he needed something else - villains in Germany. He found his model for that in the U.S. slaughter of its native peoples from millions down to some 70,000 or so. And his choice in building on that example was Jews.
Did Hitler hate Jews? Probably not. Once in power, he arranged for his mother's doctor and his family to flee to Latin America. No. Hitler neither hated nor loved. He only used and abused.
And far from alienating the wealthy of Britain, Canada, and the U.S. they admired him up to the start of the war - and even after. Yes, despite the name of his party, National Socialist, there was not a socialist bone in his body. He was admired by capitalists all over the world. Perhaps the loudest and most ardent of the capitalists was Henry Ford. Hitler might well have become the hero of all capitalists if he had simply invaded Russia. But no, he had greater ambitions.
So Hitler started a world war in 1939.
Interestingly, the U.S. took a long time to join. Of course. Many, many of the wealthiest Americans thought Hitler was a great guy, and a barrier to socialism. They even continued to trade with Germany after 1939 and after the defeat of France and the great danger into which Britain had fallen. So why did it join the 'allies' at the end of 1943?
It had nothing to do with coming to Britain's rescue. It had nothing to do with saving the Jews. (In fact, the allies had no interest in helping the Jews before, during or after the war.)
No. The U.S.entered the war because Japan had kicked the British out of China.
Britain had for many years impoverished the people of countries like China and India. It had murdered them, starved them, abused them, impoverished them by the hundreds of millions at least. It was all very profitable and, oh, the U.S. wanted to grab it before the Japanese or the even the British could come back. But most Americans did not favour such a war. So Roosevelt had to make it seem Japan started it.
It was easy. He could off the supply of oil that was essential for Japan's wars. That would force Japan to start the war. And then the American people would join.
Alas! Japan's response was unexpectedly strong with the bombing of Pearl Harbour. But Roosevelt did get his war. Alas! He never got China. Nor did Britain - though it did recapture Hong Kong at the end.
Wealthy Americans also wanted another piece of the British Empire, the oil fields of the middle east. During the war, they replaced the British as the closest friends of the rulers of Saudi Arabia, a closeness that now has created chaos in much of the middle east. And after the war, it got control of British oil fields all over the region. That's what the Iraq war was all about. And Syria. And the oil baron Americans now want Iran.
The British had viciously plundered Iranian oil from 1918 to 1948 until Iranians formed a democracy and kicked the British out. With U.S. help, the British destroyed Iranian democracy and installed a dictator. After a time, Iranians fought back, establishing control over their own country. Now Trump wants to make American oil billionaires happy by bombing it.
In 1945, the Second World War ended.
But greed didn't.
