Yes, despite the braying by our capitalists and their political hacks, climate change is happening - and fast. And so is a whole range of destructive changes. Soon. It means fatal flooding, vast destruction of agricultural lands right across our nations, destruction of animal life, of insects vital to our survival.
Following World War Two, we have used our resources to kill the human life that we need in order to survive. Capitalists have become enormously wealthy and powerful with their destruction and impoverishment of the billions of the rest of us.
We can't afford wars. But wars are milk and honey in the eyes of our capitalists. And the only reason they bother at all with the rest of us is get our our tax money and our sons and daughters to fight the wars - while they hide their own taxes from us. And, of course, in their world of George Bush jr. draft dodgers, few if any of the super rich ever go to war themselves.
How much time do we have? At the present pace, we have none. We are already killing and dying in the millions. So go ahead, Albertans, go on digging your own graves. Go ahead, Americans. Make more nuclear bombs. Elect more billionaires like Donald Trump. Kill more of those Latin Americans so you can steal more of their resources. Send your soldiers to murder millions of men, women and, especially, children all over the world And cheer when your murderers parade through your streets with medals flashing on their way to worship at your Christian churches.

In order for us humans to survive we need the wildlife of this planet. It plays a vital role in our forests and oceans and, through those, in our lives. And they are disappearing so rapidly that we too will disappear. Nature, people, trees, insects, grasslands, bears, birds, all kinds of life are essential to our survival. Large parts of this world have already been destroyed. For our survival, even vultures are more important than billionaires.

This next item is self indulgent. I grew up just one block from the part of Montreal this describes. However, in my childhood, my district was much worse than the one in the article. And Blacks were pretty much forbidden. I knew of only one Black family (who were friends of ours and whose daughter was my frequent baby sitter.)
The tone of the district was pretty well defined by my uncle, an unskilled factory worker. His pay was miniscule, not nearly enough for his drinking needs. So - at night he was a street fighter. An audience would appear in a dark lane, and Uncle Youbert, bare-fisted but with boots for kicking, would fight for money. I knew his best friend, too, a lout who, in a drunken fit, murdered his father because the father had no money to give him for more beer.
Our neighbour was a low, low level mafia thug. He disappeared one day. But he was soon found - at the shallow bottom of a lake - all wrapped round with chains.

The 9/11 attacks - as the U.S. knew at the time, were carried out by their good friends in Saudi Arabia.
