Iran has never threatened the U.S. But the U.S. has (illegally) pronounced who it will allow Iran to trade with. That illegal move is already causing suffering for Iran - including the children of Iran. Clearly, the U.S. wants a war with Iran. The death and destruction will be enormous. (Oh, it won't be enormous in the U.S. - just in Iran.)
Some Americans will die, though. These will come from the ranks of those Trump was praising on July 4 for their bravery in bombing schools, hospitals, children, - everything. Most of that will be done, of course, by bombing from the air. As a part of their bravery, they may even have the courage to go nuclear.
(The Iranians might come up with a bomb - but it would be a tiny threat compared to the thousands of nuclear bombs the brave soldiers of the U.S. have. Nor is there the slightest possibility any Iranian nuclear bomb could reach the U.S.)
When did the U.S. last make war on Iran? That was way back when the U.S. with its faithful dog, Britain overthrew the elected government of Iran and installed the Shah as a dictator. But those nasty Iranians overthrew the American dictator to restore a democracy.
Why are these nice, young American men preparing to bomb those evil Iranians again? Well, that's because all those nice American oil barons want to control Iran's oil, and install another nice dictator. (In the years since 1945, Iran hasn't attacked anybody. The U.S. has attacked at the very least some 60 or more countries, And, once again, the flunky of rich Americans (Britain, - with a heavy attention to children and civilians,, and killing over 20 million.)
Israel, and Saudi Arabia) want to get a piece of the action.
Will it demand that Canada join the parade? I hope not. I don't think so. Not for this one. But it will happen.

In the last years of British rule in Hong Kong. I very much sympathize with their anger at Chinese rule. But let's not kid ourselves. In those years of British rule, The British were detested (deservedly) by the Hong Kongers. As so often happens in these situations, the British were disgustingly arrogant, and with utter contempt of the people of Hong Kong. And there are no people to match the British in arrogance.
I knew perhaps the most powerful person in Hong Kong. He was a relative by marriage. He was British. And like all colonial rulers he had nothing but contempt for the common people of Hong Kong. For over a century, the British did nothing for Hong Kong except rob it blind.
It would be nice to see the people of Hong Kong get a break this time. But it's not likely.

Americans really should read the truth about their history. (Well, all nations should show better knowledge of their own history than they do.) The U.S. lives in a version of its own history that is entirely false How else could they not know about the extraordinary slaughter of it's own native peoples? It wasn't cutesy cowboys and Indians affairs. It was a slaughter that lasted centuries

And evangelical Americans might get over their idiocy that God especially loves them - them and their long history of savagery against native peoples and slaves.
This is a nation drenched in delusions about itself, and about the "American Destiny.
We are well into the most dangerous period this Earth has ever known. And we are held there by men of monstrous greed. The end of World War 2 turned them loose. We forget all about creating a better world in 1945. And now, we aren't even trying to get that.
We are in a situation far worse than our parents were in the early Hitler years.
