Jan. 28: We have met the enemy - and he is us.

Yeah, Yeah, Biden has created a new America.

Well - no. He hasn't.

The American constitution is not a symbol of democracy. It never has been.George Washington was not a democrat. He believed in decision making by the rich.He had no patience for those who weren't rich. And the mass murder of native peoples that he launched was scarcely an act of love. Like just about all rulers of his time, his faith was in the rich, Indeed, fairly large numbers of the very poor were NOT allowed to vote in early, American elections.

From the start, the rich flocked to Washington looking for favors and offering bribes. And that has been true of every government since then. The same has been true of Canada.

Does Biden represent any part of this interference wiith government? Oh, yes. He was, an still is, the friend of the rich. The reality is that the rich buy every government they can. That's why an Irving has no trouble getting permission to poison the  land and forests of New Brunswick. That's why the Irvings have no trouble plundering the provincial budget. That's why a missionary from the Irving home town can be murdered by American capitalists, then be forgotten and buried in the Irving home town.

What we call democracy doesn't really exist. And most of the voters have voted for the people who clearly don't give a damn for them. The CCF party was an honest one which gave us medicare which is perhaps the best health care system in the world. (Of course you have the option of American health care which has plunged American patients into poverty, misery, and hopelessness.)

Canada's lack of knowledge is really the product of news media which, like those in the U.S. , exist only to lie. Think about that. Think about the the New Brunswick missionary who was murdered by American mercenaries in Guatemala - and who was buried in the home town of the Irvings. And his burial not even noticed by any Canadian press.

Not a single Canadian news medium carried that story. And the Irving papers led the way in ignorance though the Irving family chapel was just a short walk away from it. That chapel nust keep a steady supply of wimpy clergymen.

The reality is that we have very little in the way of a free press. And we have churches that have turned a blind eye to evil for almost 2000 years.

Will Canada's Liberals and Conservatives stand up to defend Canada? Not likely. Canada,  was once a colooy of the British Empire and which killed to please British billionairs - as in the Boer War  -  fought British wars is now a colony of the American empire. - and has been since 1945. (Don't tell the Canadian Legion. It thinks we fight wars to defend out country. We don't. The Korean war had nothing to do with defending Canada. Ditto for the Afghanistan war where Canadians died to make American billionaires rich. Ditto for Canadians who destroyed democracy in Haiti to please more American billionairs - and for Canadians who have troops in the middle east to please their American masters, and who very well might soon be killing Chinese to please our American masters.

The language of patriotism sounds good. But think hard. The British 'fought for their country ' in the 1800s, British billionaires killed hundreds of millions of people all over the world to make themselves richer. And the British soldiers and sailors?

They were dumped in the streets to die there. They weren't serving their country. They were serving their billionaires.

And that's what a war with China would mean for Canada.

Anyone with a grain of sense should see that war as it is now will destroy all of us - and probably very quickly. That should have been made obvious at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It should have been obvious in 1945 that we had to break the war habit.

But the billionaires don't want to break it. And hiring the rest of us to kill for them is what they call fighting for our country.

(As I write this, tens  of millions of Americans - young, old, men, women and children - are dying in the streets while billionaires are making the biggest fortunes in history. And this is creeping into Canada as well.

War is no longer an option. In fact, it never has been.

(My how nice it would be if our churches had anything intelligent and Christian to say about this. But they never have. Worst are the evangelicals who think they just have to believe, and then they will die happy happy and will  stand on clouds to sing praise to God 24 hours a day for millions of years to come. What does that have to do with the teaching of Jesus?

Donne-moi un break.

_____________________________________________________________

You think things will get better? You're dreaming. I took a look at several examples of where we're going. These are all items in the news - though often not in our daily papers.

1. The world is now at the hottest it has been in 12,000 years. And no, that's not a good sign.

2.President Biden wants to get tough with China. Why? Because it has become the fastest growing economy in the world. And they're really not allowed to out sell the U.S. Only the U.S. is allowed to have unlimited growth. Biden is going to put China in it's place

3,And that means war. And war against 2 billion people means unlimited use of nuclear bombs and, certainly, intervention by Russia and other countries. Gotta put them Chinese in their place. Oh, and such a war Would also mean that countries like Canada must join in on the American side. Americans have been allowed to rule the world.......but. in fact, the American empire is now a loser.

4,The U.S. is far the biggest military spender in the world. That's why so many millions of Americans have to sleep in the streets.

Instead of learning to cooperate after World War Two, The U.S. has chosen unending war for the last 70 years. And we are very close to game over.

If we continue this world world of chaos and mass murder and unlimited greed, we will never see the end of this century. And, so far, American billionaires have no intention of giving up on mass murder and unlimited greed. And Canada, ever since 1945, has been America's champion wimp as Canadians have killed and died  in American wars.

It's more than time for members of the Canadian Legion to put down their beer, and decide which side they are on.

We needed to work out a world of cooperation and sharing in 1945. We didn't do it. And  drinking beer at the Legion hall isn't going to change that. The Canadian Legion should be serving it's members. Instead, it has routinely thrown Canadians into wars that had nothing to do with us. (And Canadian war historians haven't been much help.)

The U.S. has not dealt with it's wars of agression, wars designed not to protect anyone but to make billionaires richer. And we now have very little time.

Jan. 17: Be Patient with us old farts....

Ah, the confusion of life. I have a whole blog that seems to have gone missing.  And  my confusion is not helped by a diet of sleeping pills that can knock me out for  15 hours and more. I'm sorry. This has been a wretchedly drawn out several days for me.That's the trouble with us old folks. We get - you know - old.

So let's pick up the pace to the modern day and our determination (some of us) to conquer the world.  A  useful starting point is the British Empire of the 1700s and more.

This was the empire of a Britain that was controlled by the British aristocracy, the wealthy. There was no place in there for common people. These were held in contempt by the  aristocracy. No. All the power (and it's profits) were held by a tiny aristocracy. The rest of the British lived in poverty and filth. Oh, they could serve in the army or the navy. But only at the lowest levels. and with the lowest pay.  (On naval ships, the women of the poor commonly served on the gun decks, and commonly produced children who would serve on them, too. Thus the expression 'Son of a gun.' And many a son of a gun would die down on the gun decks.

Britain owed nothing to it's lower classes, If they served they then became less effective, They were simply dumped into the streets of the nearest port, there to die of  poverty and disease.

Winston Churchill was a typical product of that class contempt for the poor. Check his political records. You'll find he served only the rich. That's why the British voters turned against him near the end of World War Two.

But Churchill and his like served the wealthy in grand style. They murdered over 400 million people all over the world to steal their  resources, to force them into cheap labour, to starve them........ And, not suprisingly, British (and French settlers of the higher sort in the Americas, and Latin as Latin Americans followed their leaders - as their descendents still do.

In this they were following a system going back among humans for uncounted thousands of years. Unlike other animals. humans were created so that some were attuned to enslaving other humans. No other animal treats it's fellow animaals in that way. Others might fight other in quarrels. But these fights are usually short term. Not so among humans. Dominant humans permantently abuse and even kill their own kind.

Thus the brutality of the British arisitocracy and it's abuse of the English people. Thus the British request for Canada to join the British war against the Dutch colony of South Africa. And the reason for it?

The Dutch (Boers) had taken control of South Africa becuase it had massive gold  fields. The Dutch (almost all Christians) wanted to steal that gold. But, about  1900, the the British invaded to steal that gold. In short, The wealthy British wanted to steal that gold for wealthy British. And so a war happened to please wealthy Brish and displease wealthy Dutch.

Curiously, the British army felt it needed Canadian help.

Actually, it didn't. So why demand Canadian help? Well it really did need Canadian help for a future war.

That was to set a precedent so that in future Canada would be required to fight British wars in general. European corporations in Britain, France, Germany, were rapidly expanding to modernize for wars with each other. So the British wanted a precedent for Canada (and the rest of the empire) to fight British wars.

What did that war have to do with Canada? Nothing. In fact, the nearby U.S. wouldn't join in the war until very late in the game.

That was world war one in which Canadians fought and died so that Britain, France, Germany, etc. could fight wars that had nothing to do with Canada. But it was highly profitable for war industries on all sides.

At the end of that war all sides agreed not to blame anyone for the war - largely because they had all fought the war for the same reason - to protect their rising industries. But it took Britain and France a very short time to demand that Germany be punished Their purpose of course was to destroy German competition. So they imposed  conditions so severe that Germany fell into deep poverty. This, in the eyes of British and French would destroy German industrial competion leaving Germany a land of poverty - while British and French capitalists were free to run wild. And that is what opened to a door to a Germany led by a sort of Donald Trump racist who ralled Germans by hatred of Jews. (Just like Americans and sometimes Canadians) fight North Koreans and Afghanis and anybody in the middle East) - and will be called on  to fight Chinese and anybody else the U.S. tells them to fight.

And who has benefitted from all this?

In the U.S., American incomes seemed to remain steady in the post war years. In fact, they dropped steadily in purchasing power. At the same time, Americans got dramatically poorer, a poverty far worsened by a pandemic attack.

This was an attack that called for government help. But the only government help was to billionaires who used the money to fight even more wars and plunder even poorer countries.

Americans have suffered terribly. But American billionaires are doing well,  with the highest profits in history. Indeed, billionaires are the only people making profits in the U.S., most of them from making weapons and killing people of impoverished countries.

In fact, the super-rich have been making the biggest profits in history from our   wars - while millions of Americans sleep on the streets at night, and go hungry during the day. As American die of hunger and exposure, Billionaires, especially in the U.S., have been making huge profits.

And that, in a nutshell, is the history of the world. And if we don't control this in this century, we are dead meat. As our world mechanizes, the super rich need fewer and fewer of us. As it is, the U.S. with it's massive unemployment, can still produce the most weaponry in the world. Indeed, they need a smaller population, not a larger one.

So far as I know, there is no other animal that acts like this. Oh, some will flare up for a moment of anger. And they will kill each other to eat. But it is only humans which will organize wars against each other, which will mass murder, which will kill for power. Or, put in blunter terms, it is only humans who are evil, And, yes, our business leaders throughout history have been evil and ruthless and murderous. And we are within reach of the worst of their evil.

This is an evil which one finds in no other animal - and very rarely in male people. Jesus in no way represented such evil. And that, alas, may explain why His churches have, for two thousand years, rarely represented His values. (Check  history. The European wars of the twentieth century were wars of Christians against Christians - and had been for 2,000 years.)

I'm not trying to get religious with you. I am saying we either bring our super rich under control or they bring us into total destruction. And that is the reality about a Bill Gates or an Irving.

Oh, for members of the Canadian Legion, explain to us why it has been necessary for Canadians to kill people in Korea, Afghanistan, Haiti, and more to come....?

Is it so the Irvings and Gates of this world will like you?

.......

Jan.9 Down, Down, Down, Down...

Forgive me. Writing this blog has been extremely painful for me. Yes. There are people on the other side who do evil things to us. But let's get serious. We probably out'evil anybody on the other side.

In the current crisis, the term nuch used has been "American values". What American values?" The American government hired killers to murder hundreds of thousands of priests, nuns and missionairies in Guatemala. What American value does that reflect? One of the victims was a Canadian missionary. But the Canadian government said nothing and no Canadian news medium has ever carried the story.

So let's take a look at Canadian and American 'values'

Let's take a look Let's take a look at the values we claim to represent. Let's take a look at the evil we represent, and ask why we represent it.

I'll try to start that tomorrow (though I, in the feebleness and uselessness of age, have few values or uses.)

We might also ask why we sent Canadians (we called them heroes) to kll Afghans and to send troops to help out the U.S. in Syria, and to fight an American war in Korea.

Oh, and ever wonder why very early in the twentieth century we sent Canadians to kill dutch settlers in South Africa - and what that had to do with world wars one and two?

And ever wonder why we don't sent them to British wars any more? (Just American wars.)

Above all, let's get past the bullshit we call values.

Oh, another point. We should stop teaching history in our schools because what we teach are lies, anyway.

Jan.11 Why rich humans need poor ones

(I'm nor not sure wether the text below has already aappeared in my blog.)

This morning (December) I was checking through some of the usual, conventional papers that are worth reading only because I can get them free. Today, I was enraptured by the tone of a typical article these papers carry. It says that President Biden may feel it necessary to invade Cuba. It seems he is of the opinion that the government of Cuba is evil, and that it kills or tortures (or both) innocent Cubans.

Therefore, it might be necessary to use force against the evil, Cuban government.

Whoa baby. Where is all this American virtue coming from?

In fact, the U.S. has been murdering, torturing, plundering, enslaving Latin Americans for 120 years. Just in more recent times, the U.S. hired mercenaries to murder priests, nuns and missionaries in Guatemala. Funny how U.S. (and Canadian) governments and their news media never mentioned it though the slaughter was in the hundreds of thousands.

(Maybe they didn't want to bother us about those shy mercenaries.)

Back iin the early days of TV, a young (and cute) me   watched horrible stories about the U.S. torturing and murdering thousands of Cubans. It used hired thugs to torture and murder uncounted numbers. This use of thugs, dating back to the conquest and theft of Guantanamo dated back to the early I900s. Cubans were denied ownership of their own agricultural land as the former owners became very cheap labour.

Cuban children were, for the most part, denied education.

American gangsters soon became a common sight in Cuba, with, it seems, the full blessing of the American governments - including the saintly Franklin Denalo Roosevelt. As a final touch, the U.S. handed all government in Cuba over  to Cuban thugs. And, by 1945, those thugs were in full and murderous control.

Early TV nade no secret of all that. Sneering thugs happily sad for TV interviews.

And that  is what led to to the rise rise of very courageous and capable Cubans like Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. Life in Cuba was hugely improved - though the U.S. did all it could - and  often with terrible damage to Cuba that has somehow survived the interference and lies of American governments and their lying newspapers.

Now, as I read our current, privately owned newspapers, there is  no mention of this. In fact, the tone of their coverage is to give the impriession that Castro was the evil one.

Let's get real. Almost all of our commercial news coverage is made up of lies and propaganda. That happens because the ownership of almost all our commercial covorage is dishonest

And that's why I started a blog many years ago.

But let's get on to something even worse.

_________________________________________________________________

As I write here in what can politely be called my senior years, I am finding numerous handicaps. One is that time is being stolen from me. For reasons over which I have no control, I'm now asleep for some 15 or 16 hours a day. I have no idea why.  I hope it's temporary but I really don't know. In the time I have left, it's hard to keep up on what's happening.

For example, the U.S. has become perhaps the worst country in the world for it's own people - epecially the poor ones. Right now, ten of millions - men, women, and childlren - are living in filth, poverty, hunger - and it's going to get much, much worse.

In contrast, the U.S. wealthy are floating in the biggest profits ever seen. An upper group of a few thousand have actually been making billions out of the American economy.

No. Not billions. That's the official number. The real number is not billions. It's  TRILLIONS as Amerocam governments have yearly increased  the taxes they are allowed to hide and the grounds they can accept from government. Much the same is true of Canada.

Americans and Canadians have been driven into poverty by their leading citizens - you know - the ones with names like Gates and Irving. So long as we allow that, we are going nowhere. They are the cause of poverty. You'd think we could catch on.

From the begining of humans many thousands of years ago, we have chosen certain people to be leaders while the rest of us became their slaves, victims. rulers. Over thousands of years we have allowed those 'leaders' to treat us with contempt.

You can see traces of it at ground level. In  the days of British empire, the British aristocracy used the common people to fight their wars, then dumped them in the streets to die. For most of British history, the common people had no chance for education. More ommonly they went to work in jobs that emphasized filth and poverty for life. To this day, Government is commonly for the rich of Britain who today at 1% of the population have amost a quarter of all U.K. wealth. Indeed, that attitude does much to explain class structure and  abhorrent treatment of the poor in the U.S. even today - expecially today.

When I was a child, my friends were illiterate. They commonly 'dropped out' anywhere from grade 3 to grade 9 to find jobs. When I got to grade 10 my parents were concerned  that I was trying to rise above my station. And they were angry.

That relaxed only when I got a PhD. And that was only never to speak to me again.

But rich kids? Though no smarter than poor ones, they got private education that trained them to think they were superior.

Human history is a long record of privilege, class - and of the most dreadful abuse of the poor.

But there is an exception.

China has won international praise for it's elimination of povery in the nation. No, I know you won't find this in your local paper. (I got it from Financial Times)

Even as the U.S. dumps it's poor into the streets and into tent cities and worse, China has been putting it's poor into safe and secure homes. China, not  Canada or the U.S., is the nation that serves the needs of all it's people while the U.S. dumps it's people into hunger and disease. Meanwhile, the super rich, as in Canada and the U.S. and Britain do what they have always done - pile up the geatest fortunes in history.

But let's get a look at this behaviour over the past 120 years,

January 27: Do we have the brains - or courage - to face reality and to change it?

I hesitate to write this. I'm sorry I wrote it. I'm sorry I had to write it. We have one hell of a change to face and, well, we humans are not good at dealing with change.

Maybe the best thing to do is to read only your local newspaper and follow the usual, bland news on your local radio, TV. After all, why work up a rage about the things you'll never read or hear about in your local bland and soothing news source.

I mean, should we really care that the city of Toronto sticks the homeless into tents which, for a start, are really not healthy in winter,  and that fosters stunning rates of pandemic illness. What the hell... let 'em die as they infect each other. Of course, the U.S. government plans to give the millions of the homeless as much as $600 each. At the same time it is giving billions to the super rich. That dwarfs the spending for the sick and hungry.

As an aside, the giving of huge sums of money to the super rich who promptly hide it for themselves has been going on for some years The really rich don't really get just billions. It  now, even as children starve and the poor die, amounts to trillions. That's why the super rich are now making more money than ever in history. And that's why, even as the rich have more wealth than ever,  national wages in the U.S. have not improved in years.

The U.S. of today has a striking resemblance to the Roman mob as it fell into disorder and poverty. Indeed, it resembles all the great empires - Rome, Egypt, Greece, Britain.... At the end of World War Two, the U.S. embarked  on plundering the whole world. That's certainly not a secret. And that is why we live in a world that murders civilians and children and babies by the millions. That's why Africans are starving as their agriculture collapses. (Yes. The agriculture that fed  thousands of generations is breaking down all over the world. It's happening all over the world. In Africa, millions are dying now from starvation. And there is no improvement planned or in sight or even in planning.)

Meanwhile, American billionaires (trillionaires) with routine help from countries like Canada are plundering the earth, completely ignoring the inevitability of destruction of all of us. (And those twits of Canada's military historians have offered their idiocy about how Canada sent troops to Afghanistan to bring democracy. Significantly, our commercial news media never picked up on this story. Well, what the hell! Our commercial news media never picked up on it - or on the Canadian role in crushing a democratic Haiti, or on the CIA slaughter of priests, nuns and missionaires in Guatemala.  A Canadian missionairy who was killed in Guatemala is largely unkown even in his home province of New Brunswick. That's because he's buried in his home town of Bouctouche, a town that founded the Irving billionaire family.  They also own all the newspapers, and the Irvings don't run stories about people who died for good causes.

(Is it really that   cheap and shoddy and petty?   You bet.   The Irvings are also the family who are bombing New Brunswick with poison gas to improve their forestry business. Well, yes. It does do a great deal to poison people and destroy animal  life. But don't look into New Brunswick's Irving press to say anything about that.)

The whole history of human kind is a history of mass murder, of exploitation, of enslavement, of exploitation.... The outstanding example of it today is the super-rich of  the U.S. and it's bum boy, Canada. And there's a crisis on the way.

The U.S. needs to destroy China. It routinely sends warships into waters claimed by China China. - This could well start a nuclear war. Yesterday, a Chinese warship ordered the U.S. to get one of its warships out of Chinese waters. Luckily,  the U.S. backed off. But the presence of American warships - in large numbers - is   very, very dangerous. (What do you think the U.S. would do if China had it's warships parading in, say, New York's harbour? - or even the more remote Pearl Harbour?)

American capitalists are very, very likely to want a war with China. This  is a reality which our news media have rarely bothered to mention.  The U.S. is no longer world's dominant world economy as China is very close  to that dominance.   This is particularly annoying to U.S. capitalists who see Chinese displacing them in an Africa that has had more than enough of the U.S., and even a Latin America that far prefers China to the U.S. As well, much of Europe sees more merit in trade with China than in trade with the U.S .

In short, the U.S. is a fading flower on the world stage. Indeed, it is now destroying even itself as a result of it's presidential election. Alas! The difference between Trump and Biden is not nearly so great as we like to think. And be assured that the capitalists who dominate both American parties are very likely to unite in a final attempt to conquer the world.

The American super rich are determined to go on plundering even their own people - and even especially their own people.

Add to that the devastating effects of climate change (which most of our super rich say isn't happening - wildfires on a scale never before seen, animal destruction, crashing agricultural collapse, poisoning of the earth by oil - - all those things the super rich say aren't happening  - but which ARE happening - and at a tremendous pace.

Democracy is pretty much - a word - and nothing more than a word.

And what will the rich do help the poor and cure this? Get real. They haven't done a damn thing to help anybody but themselves. And we let them do it. This greed and self-serving is and alway has been a product of human minds which place enormous powers on the most wretchedly evil and greedy of humanity.

And I do not hesitate to use the words evil and greedy. This has been a characteristic of  humans - and only humans - from the start as we simply dump the poor and hungry to die  in the streets even as the super rich take greater control over them and the rest of us. This is a history that we are facing just as the Roman mob did. And in almost all wars between Christians for  the last 2,000 years, the churches have supported their side - as Christians supported  the English  (and Canada) in Britain - but the Germans, also Christians, supported Hitler. They have also supported all  the "Christian" wars since the beginning - the British and American and Dutch and French. And they have been remarkably silent as in wars against North America's native peoples. (They were even silent while Americans murdered priests, nuns and missionaries in Guatemala.)

More recently, we and our churches have been silent as we destroy our planet's land, waters, wild life,  climate......, a campaign that ultimately will destroy us, all of us. And we do it for the super greed of our super rich. Wars,  after all, are what create our superrich in the first place.

Wars put all a nation's  wealth at the feet of the rich - to develop their weapons factories, to put all our taxes at the feet of the super rich. (The super rich, of course, pay very little tax as the rest of us pay for their wars.)

Based on that system - which was also the basic system for the British Empire and all the other empires - it has made the super rich even richer. Wars are almost all fought in the interest of the super rich - but only rarely fought by them.

The U.S. has now put uncounted tens of millions of adults, children, elderly to die on the streets. The immense fortunes of the super rich must be kept by the super rich while the government taxes those poor who still have jobs so that the tax money ---can be used to help homeless? ----No. It's so that money can be used to help the super rich to get even richer. In fact, the U.S. (and Canada) have been acting on that principle for almost all of their history - though the U.S. is the one that has been the super lover of the super rich from their start.

The U.S. is murdering and plundering in grand style in the middle east and Latin America with help of Canada - something our Canadian news media prefer not to talk about. And we are almost certainly headed for a war in China.

Is China likely to go to war? It won't have much choice. And it is likely to get support from Russia. Isn't that evil? Maybe. But it's a hell of a lot better than the more than a century and a half of western murdering and plundering of China.

And, oh, there's so much to write about.

China  is communist? So what? Communism is what made it possible for the Chinese to overcome the many years of capitalist plundering.

In a similar case, it was communism that enabled Russia to overcome it's crushing aristocracy. And without that, Russia would probably have lost to Hitler - and that would probably have meant one hell of a defeat to us.

And it's not as if capitalism is as pure as the driven snow. It has maintained the U.S. as a nation of murderers and a humiliater and starver of it's own people. Look at the condition of the American people today - and tell me why you think communism is bad and capitalism is good. (No. I am neither a communist nor a capitalist.)

To those who vote Liberal or Conservative or Democrat or Republican, you have brought us to the gates of their hell. And, oh, the gates are for a final hell this time.

Will the U.S. change? Not likely. Americans, submerged under centuries of myth about how wonderful they are are not likely to dig out of this one. Indeed, the U.S. itself may not be able to continue existence.

Will Canada change? Fingers crossed on that one. I would have no great faith in Trudeau or any province that would elect a Liberal or a Conservative.

And, oh, I'm sorry I had to write this.

Dec. 19: Merry Christmas to all the murdering and theiving leaders of this world.

Consortium news carries the story of a recent study of tax cuts for the rich. The government argument for this is that tax cuts for the rich create a trickle down that means financial benefits for all of us.

But recent studies show they do no such thing. In fact, incomes in the U.S,  especially, have been going down, not up. The super rich have been getting even richer. The rest of us have been getting poorer. All this has been especially marked in the last fifty years. Indeed, it goes back much, much further.

Throughout history the super rich have trashed the poor and even the not so poor. In this past, and even up to this day, the super rich have had nothing but contempt for those beneath them. The ordinary child in Britain - up to the early 1900s - could expect only hard work, long hours, danger, filth and low, low pay from the age of five or six. The same was widely true in Canada and the U.S.

School? Good luck. Our great, great grandparents saw little of any schooling - if they saw any at all. The very rich, of course, have expensive private schools. I well remember my own childhood classes were overfilled (as they still are) and most of my classmates  (and me) never finished school because nobody expected us to. Some of my friends left school as early grade four. There were some as late as grade 9 who couldn't yet read - not even comic books.

The rich kids, of course, grew up in a society which expected private schooling, small classes - and it had children who expected to finish school because finishing is what their social class did. (many years later, I was a university teacher. To my surprise, the rich kids were not particularly smart. The smartest kids I taught were Jewish - who, for the most part, were not rich in those days. But Judaism has a high respect for education.

It's hard to tell because their numbers were smaller, but the Japanese I taught (the victims of Canada's prison camps for Japanese Canadians) were also impressive. One Japanese Canadian I knew back when he got out of the prison camp became a brilliant medical doctor.

Are there rich kids and dumb kids? Maybe. But I'm flexible on that because in high school I was one of the dumb kids that the principal called down to say to me, "Let's face it Decarie, you have no brains at all. Empty your desk and find a job."

Being born into a poor family is what makes a lot of kids dumb. We're about to see lots of dumb kids in the U.S. as millions are turned into the streets. But don't worry about rich kids. They become smart in their expensive schools.

I wrote the above to give meaning to my real point.

Our super rich have taken control of our lives and our destinies. And they have no intention of improving that for the rest of us. And this is not the first time this happened. It's a pattern that has been repeated many, many times for thousands of years.  This was how kings operated, and the emperors of Rome. The common people were made into trash to be abused, used, and tossed aside.

This is happening to us. That's why American (and Canadian) super rich pay minimal taxes - if any. In fact,  the amount they pay has been dropping dramatically for a good, fifty years. While millions lose jobs and are forced onto the streets, the super rich have actually been getting richer. That's why millions of Americans have no homes, no food, no hope. At the same time, the super rich actually have wealth in trillions of dollars. And that's why we live in a world crawling with poverty and human abuse. And, no,  it's not going to get better. Even as you read this, the super rich, the most evil people on this earth, are ensuring that all the wealth goes to them and only to them.

Since 1945, we have had nothing but war. That's largely because the super rich make their money out of war. They murder millions to steal resources - but they don't do the fighting. No. They use the rest of us to become mass murderers for them. (They specialize in murdering children.) They have made Latin America and Africa into horrors for the living. With greed as their only interest, they are destroying this planet. That's no exaggeration. Their abusing  of nature is destroying our oceans, making fatal changes to our climate, destroying the Arctic and the Antarctic, making huge areas unlivable for their crashing by fire. Our Canadian hero, Mr. Irving, is poisoning the land and the forests of New Brunswick - and poisoning  the people and the wild life in the process.

And we, alas, stand by with our faces hanging out. Worse, millions of us have dropped into poverty. And it's not likely to improve.

Remember these names - for Canada, David Thomson makes over 39 billion. Much of that comes from ownership of news media. Think of that next time you buy a newspaper. Lower on the billionaire list, but also the monopoly owner of all news media in New Brunswick is Irving. This year, Canadian billionaires are actually up 37 billion dollars - in just one year. And these are the same billionaires who have been cutting wages for the rest of us.

Another group of major billion dollar players in a very big way is - wait for it - China - which is sweeping American trade off the map.

Merry Christmas. We are living in a typically human period of very evil exploitation, the kind of evil that has always marked our earthly existence. Either we change that now or we go down  with all the failed periods of history.

Check out the story above. (just go to The Intercept on your computer. Checking on the sentence above won't get you anywhere.)

In Afghanistan, highly trained special ops troops, the ultimate American heroes, are being used to lead their Afghanistan allies in night time attacks. These attacks are aimed at residential schools where they murder children as a warning to leave the schools.

That's not original, of course. American heroes have a record now going back some 75 years of very deliberate mass murder of children and babies. (No. I'm not exaggerating. In their days of empire, the British did much the same - in their case inflicting death by mass starvation. Winston Churchill was big on that.)

Funny how our news media never mention these stories.

Our human world has a savage history. We are not, to put it kindly, nice people. For two thousand years we have gone to Christian churches without in the least following the teaching of Christ. Indeed, the Christian churches have always been cheerleaders for our wars. When Christian churches in Canada supported war in `1939, those same churches in Germany supported Hitler. The Jesus jumping U.S. has been mass murdering people for the past seventy years. When did you last hear a sermon on this?

I really have to go back to something I tried briefly some months ago. It involved lifting the news stories, in full colour and text, and letting them tell the stories. I've been finding it a difficult thing to do for this retarded blogger. But I'm searching for someone who can tell me how to do it.

The Evil we worship...

I came across a disappointing but true story today while playing on the computer. I went to the web site  for the Canadian war museum in Ottawa. There, I found a sentence I didn't want to see. The museum had a recent section on the time Canadians sent our troops to the Afghanistan war.

It said that Americans and Canadians went to war in Afghanistan to bring democracy to that country.

This is the purest possible bullshit. And it gets worse. This claim was asserted by eminent Canadian military historians despite the fact that, at the time, nobody even mentioned that as a cause for the war. The truth, as those eminent historians surely knew, was that Afghanistan had beaten off years of Russian attacks.  Nobody in Afghanistan ever heard of democracy or cared about it. Nor did the Canadian government care.

When the Afghanis beat off the Russians, the U.S. burst in to take over what the Russians had tried to do - to take over the mineral wealth of Afghanistan. In fact, that's why the U.S. has massive and expensive armies all over the world. They aren't to help anything but American billionaires - with Canadians getting shares whenever they can.

Did the military historians quoted by the Canadian War Museum know that? Of course they did. To a considerable degree, our military historians are really nothing more than cheerleaders. Afghanistan is just one more propaganda piece for them - just as it was for our news media.

Canadians murdered people in Haiti in order to destroy democracy there. Get ready for the big one. If the U.S. goes to war with China (and it is very likely to), it will be the most horrible killing of adults, children, babies this world has ever seen. It will be a war, like all wars, to benefit the super rich. The history books tell us that we are good and our enemies are evil. The reality is that we are as evil as they come. And, throughout history, the purpose of almost all wars has been to benefit the super rich.

Have you noticed that in this period of impoverishment,  hunger - when millions in the U.S. have plunged into poverty - the super rich are rolling in more money than they have ever had? (No. I'm not exaggerating.)

This is an old story for us humans.

For thousands of years, very rich humans have sent the rest of us into wars to produce wealth - for the very rich. That has characterised all wars. The rest of us pay for the wars with our taxes. Today, for example, the super rich hide the money they should pay as taxes. It's the rest of us who pay the heavy cost of a pentagon, of weapons production, of standing armies... The super rich get the privilege of making fortunes out of the war industries. And in war, it is the rest of us who die in the fighting. That purpose of war for thousands of years has been to enrich the already rich. That's why the wealthy of today's America have stored away uncounted trillions of (note - trillions) of dollars. That's why millions of the American lower classes live on the streets and have to beg for food. That is why much of Latin America and the Middle East suffer horribly and murderously.

And we invent the story that we are fighting for our country or for our Queen. Sometimes we are. More often, as in the oil fields of the middle east, as in Afghanistan, we are fighting - and dying - for the very rich and their unlimited greed.

Will the U.S. go to war with China? Yes.  It will go to war because China has been chewing up what had been American markets. Funny we don't hear about this.

For example, China is now the world's leading nation in trade. Yes. It dominates, among others, Latin America. The U.S. is now number two and going down. This is unacceptable to America's super rich. And they will use war as their response because, as their newspapers tell us, the Chinese are evil. Americans are good.

It will be a war such as never has been seen with civilian deaths that could lead into a billion or more. Canada and others will be invited (ordered) to take part. And a Canadian government bought and owned by Canadian super rich will take part (though none of them will venture into battle.)

The Canadian Legion, which should be working in the interest of the soldiers will, as in the Korean war, be a cheerleader for the super rich. And we, as always, will wave flags and babble about the returning dead as they pass in "Highways for Heroes". (Even now, we are working as agents of the American super rich in the middle east and along the Russian border.)

Humans have, from their earthly start, have been abused and exploited by their own. And for thousands of years this has been monstrously exploited by the super wealthy. And we may well be in the final stages of this as we bow to the super-rich and their passion for control and for unlimited greed.

This Christmas, millions of Americans will go hungry as they try to survive in the streets. But be of good cheer. The super rich (New Brunswick's Irving springs to mind) will be enjoying their richest Christmas ever.)
